I've won four straight bets that I've highlighted in this column and have now gone 25-13 (65.8%) overall. For full transparency's sake, you can scroll down to the bottom of this article and see every bet I've recommended so far this season. Now let's get to today's pick...
After trading away Derrick White, Thaddeus Young and Drew Eubanks, it’s clear that this Spurs team is committing to a rebuild.
Outside of Dejounte Murray (who I love), San Antonio will likely rely on Jakob Poeltl, Keldon Johnson, Devin Vassell and Lonnie Walker IV to make things happen offensively. In other words, I like whoever they’re playing.
Today, that’s the Hawks, who have covered nine of their last 11 games. The last time these two teams played was back in November and the Hawks cruised to a 124-106 victory in San Antonio.
Insanely, Atlanta has covered the spread in 24 of their 26 outright wins and has failed to cover the spread in all 28 of their outright losses this season. It’s hard to believe that’s a real thing, but it is. Therefore, if you think ATL will win this game (like I do), you might as well also bet on them to cover.
Over the last 15 games, the Hawks own the NBA's 4th-best Offensive Rating (116.2) and with San Antonio's roster shakeup, I like Atlanta to win big.
