My biggest betting triumph of the season came last night, when I accurately predicted the Thunder to beat the Mavericks outright at +605 in BetQL’s daily Underdog Picks column. That came in direct contrast to my pick in yesterday’s version of this best bet article: Joel Embiid to score over 32.5 points vs. the Wizards. He only put up a measly 27, dropping my overall record on NBA published picks to 20-11 (64.5%) on the season. The Suns are the best team in the NBA right now. Not only do they have the best overall record at 41-9, but they’re riding a 10-game winning streak into this matchup against the Hawks in Atlanta. Phoenix has gone 18-4 SU and 14-8 ATS on the road this season as well, having won seven straight outright with six covers on the streak. The Hawks (24-26) have been on fire in their own right, having won and covered in seven consecutive games as well, but with Deandre Ayton back and Jae Crowder presumed back, the Suns will be close to full strength once again.
Meanwhile, Trae Young will be a gametime decision for Atlanta and will undoubtedly be playing at less than 100% if he suits up, dealing with a sore right shoulder. Even if he plays, know that crafty veteran Chris Paul will be very aware of that ailment.
Not only that, but despite the fact that Phoenix has the best record in the league, both Devin Booker and Paul weren’t voted in as All-Star starters and should be named as reserves tonight. On the nationally-televised TNT broadcast, I fully expect both (especially Booker) to ball out and let fans know that they deserve more respect.

Overall, I view these two teams in completely different classes despite their recent form and if Young is ultimately ruled out, getting Phoenix at this number is an absolute steal.
