Top MLB Player Prop Bets For Friday, July 1

Player prop targets for homers, strikeouts and more

Lance Lynn Over 5.5 Ks at Giants (+115 at BetMGM)

After starting the season on the IL due to a right knee injury, this is only Lynn’s fourth start on the mound in 2022. He has allowed a lot more runs than the White Sox would like — three in each of his first two starts and five in his third — but the strikeout count isn’t shabby.

Nailing eight strikeouts in his last outing, Chicago’s big boy is only just warming up. Facing off against the San Francisco Giants, getting six in the bag shouldn’t be an issue.

Jeremy Peña Over 1.5 Bases (+115 at BetMGM)

Batting .275 with .788 OPS in his debut MLB season, Peña is riding a little five-game hit streak that I’m sure he’d love to keep going. He managed an RBI last time he faced Michael Lorenzen on the mound, so with Lorenzen’s shaky performance as of late, 1.5 bases shouldn’t be too much of a stretch.

It’s the first game of the series for the teams, but the Astros should have this in the bag, so +115 for Pena to record +1.5 bases looks pretty nice.

“BEAT THE STREAK” PICK OF THE DAY

Trae Turner to record a hit vs. Padres

Turner had a bad game last night, but having already recorded a 26-game hit streak in 2022, it’s very clear that yesterday was the exception, not the rule. He is batting .305 with a .839 OPS this season, with a whopping 92 home runs and 56 RBIs. He’s a favorite for Beat the Streak, and going up against the Padres’ Blake Snell, Turner shouldn’t have an issue recording at least one hit.
