MLB Moneyline Pick Of The Day

Dodgers ML at Blue Jays (-114, FanDuel)

The first game I want to bet on today is between the Dodgers and Blue Jays, and we are going to take L.A. at a very short number in Toronto. While it is true that the Dodgers have been very disappointing so far with a 16-11 record, they have a very advantageous matchup tonight that I think makes them valuable here at such short odds to win the game.

One reason I think that Los Angeles has such short odds is the 6.00 ERA of their starting pitcher, RHP Gavin Stone. While he has allowed 12 earned runs in 18 innings, he has been a bit unlucky as well to have that number. He owns a 3.94 xERA and 4.56 xFIP, both numbers indicating that he isn't as bad as that ERA makes him look. To be clear, those numbers still aren't "good" by any means, just better than what he has played to. The Blue Jays are a much better offense against lefties and are middle of the pack against right-handers, so this won't be an overwhelming matchup for him.

Toronto is also overvalued with RHP Chris Bassitt on the mound, who owns a 3.90 ERA, much better than Stone. Taking a look at his advanced numbers, regression is in store. Bassitt owns a 5.57 xERA and 4.28 xFIP, showing that he has not pitched very well at all and has gotten lucky to have the ERA he does. The Dodgers have the second-best offense in baseball against right-handed pitching, crushing them to the tune of a 128 wRC+ as a lineup. I think they can expose Bassitt tonight, and these odds of -114 seem short to me.

MLB Over/Under Picks Of The Day

Nationals at Marlins Under 8.5 (-105, BetMGM)

I think books are underrating the pitchers in this game against the offenses that they will be facing tonight.

RHP Trevor Williams is on the hill for Washington, and he is actually having a really good season so far for them despite some past troubles. He's allowed just seven earned runs in 21.2 innings of work, and it's not a fluke either. He has a 3.09 xERA and 3.71 xFIP, so it isn't like he has some really poor underlying metrics. Even if he does have some regression, Miami is not very likely to be the offense that is going to cause it. They have been terrible against right-handed pitching, owning an 83 wRC+ as a lineup and batting .235.

Miami will send LHP Jesus Luzardo out to counter, and he has really struggled over his first five starts. He's allowed 19 earned runs in 26 innings of work, earning him a 6.58 ERA. However, he's due for a bit of positive regression. Luzardo owns a 4.67 xERA and 4.32 xFIP, and while those numbers aren't exactly good either, they still show that he is better than what we have seen. Washington has been a frisky team in the early going, but they will be in their lesser split tonight against a southpaw. They have been just awful against them, owning a 64 wRC+ as a lineup and batting .204, compared to their impressive 103 wRC+ vs. righties.

These are two offenses that are ranked in the bottom-5 of their respective splits today.

MLB Run Line Pick Of The Day

Rays -1.5 at White Sox (-132, BetRivers)

Daily bet on the run line against the White Sox.

RHP Eflin: 2.78 xERA, 3.27 xFIP vs. Chicago's 66 wRC+ vs. RHPs

RHP Flexen: 5.79 xERA, 5.41 xFIP vs. Tampa's 103 wRC+ vs. RHPs

MLB Picks: Moneyline Bets

When it comes to MLB betting, moneyline bets are a fan favorite. It's a straightforward bet where you simply choose the team you believe will win the game outright. In MLB moneyline betting, the favorite is represented by a negative number (e.g., -200), indicating the amount you need to bet to win $100. On the other hand, the underdog is represented by a positive number (e.g., +500), indicating the potential winnings on a $100 bet. Our MLB experts utilize BetQL's MLB model to provide you with well-informed MLB moneyline bets that maximize your chances of success.

MLB Picks: Run Line Bets

Betting against the spread, also known as the Run Line (RL), is a highly popular MLB betting strategy. In MLB run line betting, the favored team is listed with a negative number (e.g., -1.5), indicating the number of runs they need to win by. The underdogs are listed with a positive number (e.g., +1.5), which means they can either lose by a run or win the game outright for your run line bet to be successful. Unlike other sports, MLB games cannot end in a tie, eliminating the possibility of a "push." Rely on our MLB experts to guide you with their carefully crafted run line bets.

MLB Picks: Over/Under (Total) Bets

If you enjoy predicting the total number of runs scored in a game, then over/under (total) bets are perfect for you. In MLB, game totals usually range from six to 13 runs. A "push" occurs when the total points scored in the game exactly matches the specified total. You can also explore MLB team total betting, which focuses on predicting the total points scored by a specific team. Additionally, delve into MLB first five innings (F5) totals or MLB first half over/unders, which predict the total points scored in the first five innings of a game. To enhance your chances of success, our experts have developed value models specifically designed to identify MLB games with the most value for spread bets, moneyline bets and totals.

MLB Picks: Betting the First 5 Innings

For those seeking early-game action, MLB first-five betting is ideal. You can place moneyline bets or run line bets specifically for the first five innings of a game. Typically, first five innings moneyline bets offer lower odds compared to full-game moneylines. This type of betting is popular among bettors targeting heavily favored teams in matchups. Don't underestimate underdogs, especially home teams that tend to perform well in front of their fans before talent takes hold in the later innings. Our experts provide valuable insights to help you make informed decisions for MLB first five innings bets.

MLB Picks: Player Props

Looking for a more individualized betting experience? Player props allow you to wager on the performance of specific players in an MLB game. Whether it's hitting home runs, getting RBIs, stealing bases, or achieving other milestones, player props offer a wide variety of betting options. You can also bet on pitchers, such as predicting their wins, strikeouts, runs conceded, and more. Every game offers a myriad of player prop bets, so explore the options available at your favorite bookmaker.
