2024 MLB Strikeout Leader

Braves' Spencer Strider (+190, DraftKings)

It's extremely hard to pick anyone but Strider to record the most strikeouts this season. It's so likely to happen that the next-closest pitcher has odds of +900 to record the most strikeouts, which should tell you something about just how high the market is on his stuff.

It's no secret that Strider has some of the best strikeout stuff in the game today, with some downright nasty pitches that I'm sure he has worked on and made even better during the offseason.

Strider led all of baseball in 2023 with a remarkable 13.55 K/9 number. That's a really ridiculous number, and it's why he is the overwhelming favorite to lead baseball in strikeouts for the 2024 season.

2024 MLB Saves Leader

Astros' Josh Hader (+650, DraftKings)

I think a lot of people are down on Josh Hader simply because he played on a very disappointing San Diego Padres team in 2023. That is fair, but Hader was not the reason that they were so mediocre. He's still one of MLB's premier closing pitchers, and he showed it once again last year with numbers to back it up.

He had 33 saves last season on a pretty below-average team that didn't get a ton of chances to close games out. He owned a 2.36 xERA as well, showing just how good he was when given the chance. Now, he gets to be the new closer for a team that is set up to be much better than the 2023 Padres, and I could see him getting a ton of chances to close games out for Houston.

His +650 price seems like some really good value for one of the best relief pitchers in baseball.

2024 MLB Prop Bets: Hitting Picks

Here you will find our favorite season-leader hitting props for home run leader, RBI leader, and hits leader best bets!

Untitled Image

2024 MLB Home Run Leader

Dodgers' Shohei Ohtani (+900, DraftKings)

I think it would be a disservice not to put some money down on Shohei to lead the league in homers in 2024 at these odds. He had 44 home runs last season, which is on the low end of what you would expect from a guy who finished No. 1 in slugging percentage in MLB with a crazy .654 number. His power is ridiculous, and we have already seen him pace the league in homers before.

I think at 9/1 and on a new team that has better supporting players around him, he should have as good of a chance as anyone to lead baseball in home runs.

2024 MLB RBI Leader

Braves' Ronald Acuna Jr. (+3000, DraftKings)

I really don't think it is too crazy to back Acuna to lead the league in RBIs here at 30/1 odds, considering he was ninth in baseball in 2023 with 106 runs driven in. He doesn't bat in the ideal spot as a leadoff hitter (Braves cleanup hitter Matt Olson actually led the league last year with 139 RBIs), but it is my opinion that you can never rule out Acuna with his insane hitting stats.

He had a .463 xwOBA and 170 wRC+ in 2023, and was the NL MVP for a reason. Any prop you can get on him at 30/1 seems like a pretty good value.

2024 MLB Hits Leader

Ronald Acuna Jr. (+850, DraftKings)

Again, it is really difficult not to take Acuna here when he is not the favorite for most hits. That honor currently goes to Luis Arraez, and there is no doubt that he is a great hitter who led baseball in batting average last year, but he didn't lead the league in expected batting average. I am someone who likes to look at advanced stats to see how well a player actually performed rather than the good or bad luck he experienced throughout the season.

Acuna had a .337 AVG, but a .357 xBA in 2023. Arraez had a .354 AVG but a .329 xBA, meaning that regression is coming for him, while Acuna was actually even better than what his stats showed, if you can believe that.

2024 MLB Stolen Bases Leader

Diamondbacks' Corbin Carroll (+550, DraftKings)

I think there is a bit of value here on Carroll to lead the league in stolen bases. He had 54 stolen bases in 2023, which was the second-most in baseball behind Acuna. One of the big reasons why I like this, besides the obvious how many he had last year, is his BsR, which is his base running runs above average.

Carroll's 15.8 BsR tells you how efficient he was on the basepaths, as he was by far and away the best in the league, with Nico Hoerner a distant second with a 9.7 BsR.

Make sure to check back daily for new bets every day for you to discover, and then decide for yourself whether or not it's worth a play.

Understanding MLB Player Prop Picks

If you are new to betting, then you may not understand what an MLB Player Prop is. You've come to the right place, as we will explain everything you need to know here to bet on MLB Player Props. A player prop is simply betting on a specific MLB player to do something in a game. Some of the more common props are for a player to hit a home run, or a player to get a hit. You can also bet on pitchers as well, and the most common prop for them is how many strikeouts they will have in a game. Instead of betting on the outcome of a game, we are betting on the outcome of what a specific player will do in a game.

Example: You log on to DraftKings Sportsbook and go to an MLB game between the Cubs and White Sox. Scrolling to the player props tab, you'll see all kinds of props for you to bet on in the game. You consult this page and find that you really like a best bet on Tim Anderson to get 2+ hits at -110 odds. If Anderson is able to get two hits in the game of any kind, you win the bet!

You can place these bets at any sportsbook of your choosing, but I recommend using whatever book gives you the best number. If one book is offering -120, while the other is offering -110 and you want to bet it, always take the -110.

Indeed, we are going to crush MLB again this year, so subscribe today and let's send the books into panic mode.

What are MLB Player Props?

MLB player props are types of bets that allow you to place a wager on a specific individual player's performance during a Major League Baseball game. These types of bets typically focus on a player's individual statistics or outcomes, such as the number of hits, runs, home runs, RBIs, or strikeouts they will accumulate during the game. For example, a player prop bet might involve betting on whether a particular player will hit a home run during the game or how many strikeouts a pitcher will have. MLB player props can offer a fun and unique way to engage with individual players and follow their performances throughout a game, and they can also provide a different betting experience than traditional game outcome bets.

What are the Most Popular MLB Player Props?

Some of the most popular MLB player props include:

  1. Home runs: This prop bet involves wagering on whether a specific player will hit a home run during the game.
  2. Hits: This prop bet involves betting on how many hits a specific player will have during the game.
  3. Strikeouts: This prop bet involves wagering on how many strikeouts a specific pitcher will record during the game.
  4. RBIs: This prop bet involves betting on how many runs a specific player will drive in during the game.
  5. Total Bases: This prop bet involves wagering on the total number of bases a specific player will accumulate during the game.
  6. Stolen Bases: This prop bet involves betting on how many bases a specific player will steal during the game.
  7. Pitcher Wins: This prop bet involves wagering on whether a specific pitcher will be credited with the win for their team in the game.

MLB Player Prop Tips

Here are some over tips if you are betting MLB props bets for today. If you want some more in depth tips for different bet types then keep reading

  1. Do your research: Before placing any bets, it's important to research the players and teams involved to gain a better understanding of their recent performances and form. Look at their statistics from previous games and consider any injuries or other factors that may impact their performance.
  2. Focus on matchups: Pay attention to the matchups between players and pitchers, as well as the teams playing. Some players may perform better against specific pitchers or teams, so it's important to take this into account when placing bets.
  3. Consider the conditions: The conditions of the game, such as the weather, the stadium, and the time of day, can all impact a player's performance. Take these factors into account when placing bets on MLB player props.
  4. Set a budget: As with any betting, it's important to set a budget and stick to it. Only bet what you can afford to lose, and avoid chasing losses by betting more than you originally intended.
  5. Shop around for the best odds: Different sportsbooks may offer different odds for MLB player props, so it's a good idea to shop around and compare odds before placing your bets. Look for the sportsbook with the best odds and promotions to maximize your potential winnings.
  6. Stay up-to-date: Keep up-to-date with the latest news and updates about the teams and players you are betting on, as well as any changes in the odds or lines. This information can help you make more informed bets and improve your chances of winning.

Tips for Best Bets to Hit a Home run Today

  1. Look for power hitters: When considering which players to bet on, look for those who have a proven track record of hitting home runs. This includes players who have a high number of home runs in recent games or seasons, as well as those who have a high slugging percentage.
  2. Consider matchups: Take into account the matchup between the player and the opposing pitcher. Some pitchers may be more likely to give up home runs, and some players may perform better against certain types of pitches.
  3. Look at recent form: Consider a player's recent form, including their recent performances and any injuries or other factors that may impact their ability to hit home runs.
  4. Take note of the ballpark: Some ballparks are more conducive to home runs than others. Take into account the size and shape of the ballpark, as well as any other factors, such as wind conditions, that may impact the likelihood of a home run.
  5. Bet wisely: As with any betting, it's important to bet wisely and within your budget. Only bet what you can afford to lose, and avoid chasing losses by betting more than you originally intended.

How can you Predict who will hit a Home Run Today?

  • Past performance: Players who have a history of hitting home runs are more likely to do so again in the future.
  • Matchups: Players who are facing pitchers who they have traditionally hit well against are more likely to hit home runs.
  • Current form: Players who are in good form, as evidenced by their recent batting statistics, are more likely to hit home runs.
  • Weather conditions: Wind and humidity can affect the flight of the ball, and therefore the likelihood of a home run being hit.

Tips for MLB Strikeout Props

Here are some tips for betting on MLB strikeout props:

  1. Look at the pitcher's recent form: Consider the pitcher's recent form, including their strikeout performance in recent games. If they have been consistently striking out batters, they may be more likely to continue doing so in the next game.
  2. Check the opposing team's strikeout rate: Look at the opposing team's strikeout rate, as well as their batting averages against the type of pitch that the pitcher throws. This can help you determine how many strikeouts the pitcher may be able to get.
  3. Analyze the pitching matchup: Consider the pitching matchup and how the pitcher has performed against similar teams in the past. Some pitchers may perform better against certain types of hitters, and some teams may have a higher or lower strikeout rate overall.
  4. Check the ballpark: Take into account the size and shape of the ballpark, as well as any other factors, such as wind conditions, that may impact the likelihood of strikeouts. Some ballparks may be more conducive to strikeouts than others.
  5. Look at the pitcher's pitch selection: Consider the types of pitches that the pitcher throws and how effective they have been in striking out batters. Some pitchers may have a particularly effective pitch that they use to get strikeouts.
  6. Check the odds: Compare the odds for different pitchers to get strikeouts and look for the best value. Keep in mind that the pitcher with the highest odds may not always be the best bet.

Tips for MLB Hit Props

  • Consider the pitcher. Some pitchers are simply more difficult to hit than others. Look for pitchers with high strikeout rates and low walk rates. You'll also want to avoid pitchers who are known for giving up a lot of hits.
  • Look at the hitter's recent form. Is the hitter in a good slump? If so, they may be more likely to get a hit. On the other hand, if the hitter is struggling, they may be less likely to get a hit.
  • Consider the weather and ballpark. Some ballparks are more hitter-friendly than others. For example, Coors Field is known for being a hitter's paradise, while Petco Park is known for being a pitcher's park. The weather can also play a role, as wind can affect how far the ball travels.
  • Pay attention to the lineup. The hitter's spot in the lineup can also affect their chances of getting a hit. For example, hitters who bat leadoff tend to get more hits than hitters who bat ninth.
  • Use your knowledge of the game. The more you know about baseball, the better equipped you will be to make informed decisions about MLB hit props. Pay attention to the latest news and trends, and don't be afraid to do your own research.

What Should You Consider when Betting MLB Props?

  • The pitcher. The pitcher is arguably the most important factor to consider when betting MLB props. Some pitchers are simply more difficult to hit than others. Look for pitchers with high strikeout rates and low walk rates. You'll also want to avoid pitchers who are known for giving up a lot of hits.
  • The hitter. The hitter's recent form is another important factor to consider. Is the hitter in a good slump? If so, they may be more likely to get a hit. On the other hand, if the hitter is struggling, they may be less likely to get a hit. You should also consider the hitter's career stats against the opposing pitcher.
  • The weather and ballpark. The weather and ballpark can also affect the outcome of MLB props. For example, wind can affect how far the ball travels, and some ballparks are more hitter-friendly than others.
  • The lineup. The hitter's spot in the lineup can also affect their chances of getting a hit. For example, hitters who bat leadoff tend to get more hits than hitters who bat ninth.
  • The odds. It's important to consider the odds before placing any bet. You should only bet on props where you think you have an edge, and you should always look for the best possible odds.
  • Focus on one or two hitters. It's better to focus on a few hitters that you know well than to bet on a bunch of different hitters. This will help you to make more informed decisions and to avoid making impulsive bets.
  • Don't be afraid to shop around for the best lines. Different sportsbooks will offer different lines on the same MLB props. It's important to shop around for the best lines so that you can maximize your potential winnings.
  • Don't be afraid to lose. Everyone loses bets from time to time. It's important to not get discouraged when you lose, and to learn from your mistakes.
