NBA Public Bet: Bulls ATS at Nets

Oh, great, the public is backing my team tonight in the NBA on national TV. A whopping 86% of bets in this game are heading towards the Chicago Bulls +1.5 in this game against the Brooklyn Nets. Chicago has had a lot of success against the Nets in the past, and beat them twice already this season. The public thinks the Bulls will make that three times tonight.

If the fact that the Bulls have dominated the Nets as of late and the fact that the public is all over the Bulls tonight doesn't convince you to bet on Brooklyn, nothing will. As of this writing, there are apparently talks going on for the Bulls to trade Zach LaVine, which would take away a large portion of Chicago's points every night. Not saying that is going to happen, but if it does, I'll gladly take the Nets tonight and fade the public. They are all betting on the Bulls simply because the Nets have traded away their stars, but Brooklyn is favored for a reason.

College Basketball Public Bet: Milwaukee ATS vs. Detroit

The college basketball slate is pretty awful today, and there really aren't many games to get excited about. That certainly hasn't stopped the public from betting on it, and they apparently have taken a keen eye on Milwaukee against Detroit in what promises to be a very thrilling contest. A whopping 87% of the tickets in this game are on Milwaukee, so there must be something about the Panthers that is making the public bet on them tonight. Look no further than the records between these two teams to find out why.

Why is 10-15 Detroit a small +2 underdog to 16-8 Milwaukee on the road? That spread to me makes zero sense, and that is why I would fade the public here. There has to be a reason that such a bad team is only a small dog on the road at a much better team. The public will obviously be all over the better team with such a small spread, as they always are. Even more of a reason to fade this bet.

NHL Public Bet: Oilers ML at Flyers

Ah yes, another massive -200 ML bet that the public is all over on the ice tonight. This is about the least shocking thing I've ever seen, as the public almost NEVER takes an underdog in hockey. The Oilers will probably win this game, as the Flyers are terrible and will certainly be a team that I want to fade going forward, but not a chance that I would ever lay this kind of price with any team.

As of this writing, a massive 92% of all the moneyline bets are on the Oilers to win. They probably will, just as the Rangers won last night for the public at a massive -200 ML, but they got almost no value out of that at all. Your profit is so small and the risk is so large, it simply is never worth betting on this type of line. Instead, I would recommend taking the Oilers -1.5 at a better price in this one.
