NBA Sharp Bet: Hawks ATS vs. Suns

The sharps are riding with the Atlanta Hawks in tonight's NBA action against the Phoenix Suns. A whopping 91% of the total money wagered on the game is on the Hawks, but just 62% of tickets are on that side. In contrast, just 9% of the money is on the Suns, but a large 38% of tickets are backing that side. That means we have a fairly big 29% "Pro Money Advantage" on the Hawks, by taking the percentage of money wagered and subtracting the bet percentage.

Tickets on the Hawks are worth more money overall than those on the Suns, so we know where the big money is going. We have already seen this line move in favor of the Hawks as well, showing that the respected money is on their side in this matchup.

No, the Suns won't have Kevin Durant in this matchup, so they will be very short-handed tonight against the Hawks after the trade with the Nets. Atlanta has lost two straight games coming into this one, and perhaps the Hawks are due for a bounce-back performance at home after being on the road for five straight games.

College Basketball Sharp Bet: Georgia State ATS vs. Old Dominion

Let's head to the hardwood now in the college ranks, where we see Old Dominion traveling on the road to take on Georgia State. Yeah, it's a pretty lame college basketball card today, and this game definitely isn't one that a lot of people will be tuning into. Oftentimes, however, that can be where the sharps find value.

A huge 79% of the money is on the Panthers here, but just 23% of the total tickets are on that side. That means that those tickets are very expensive, and a whole lot of high-rollers are laying down wads of cash on that side of the aisle. In contrast, only about 21% of the money has been wagered on the Monarchs as of this writing, but 77% of tickets have been placed taking them to cover. That means those tickets are being placed by the public, normal people who need a degenerate thrill for the night. That gives us a 56% pro-money advantage on the Panthers, making them the sharp side tonight.

I won't sit here and pretend that any of us are going to be watching this game (except for alumni, I guess). Tailing the sharp plays is profitable in the long term, and you don't have to watch the game to win the bet. That's what we will be doing here tonight.

NHL Sharp Bet: Avalanche ML at Lightning

If you don't bet on hockey, you are missing out on some insane value each and every night. Plus, hockey is a great sport that I wish more people payed attention to. The sharps are siding with the Stanley Cup defending champion Colorado Avalanche at plus-money to beat the Tampa Bay Lightning.

As of this writing, 92% of the money is on the Avalanche in this one, but just 51% of the total tickets. In comparison, 8% of the money is liking the Lightning to cover in the game, but 49% of tickets are riding with that side. That means that the tickets that are worth a substantially higher amount of money are siding with the Avalanche in the game, as 92% of the money wagered is on 51% of the tickets placed.

I'm with the sharps on this one tonight, as I think these teams are pretty even. When two good squads match up against each other, I'll take the one that is going to give me the best value, and that is Colorado tonight at plus-money.
