The college basketball season rolls on with a mediocre Thursday slate, yet I've found some good value in a few different games. Check out what I'm playing tonight and what our BetQL model likes.

Iowa at Purdue Prediction

This feels like a great buy-low spot on Purdue after its loss against Indiana on Saturday. Now back at home, the Boilermakers will have the upper hand against an Iowa team that struggles on the road. Iowa is 5-1 ATS in its last six home games, but it’s a totally different story away from Carver Hawkeye Arena; the Hawkeyes are just 2-4 ATS over their last six road games and only have two straight-up road wins this season. Their scoring also takes a big hit on the road, which is an issue for a team that relies so heavily on offense. Purdue will have the matchup advantage down low, as they do against most teams, but against a poor defense like Iowa, Zach Edey should dominate. 

My pick: Purdue -8

UCLA at Oregon State Prediction

Oregon State is the second-worst team in the Pac-12 because its offense is so inconsistent. The Beavers rank dead last in offensive efficiency and offensive-rebounding percentage. They also turn the ball over at the second-highest rate in the conference and have the second-lowest 2-point shooting percentage. Add in the fact that UCLA has the best defense in the Pac-12 in multiple categories, and the Bruins should be able to roll the Beavers even on the road. Second-chance opportunities have been plentiful for Mick Cronin's team and it rarely turns the ball over. There are multiple ways you could play this game by looking at the under for Oregon State's team total, or the over for UCLA's, but I'm going to keep it simple and just take the Bruins to cover.

Northwestern at Ohio State Prediction

Should Ohio State really be favored by 5.5 tonight after it has lost nine of its last 10 games? I don't think so! What was supposed to be a solid year for the Buckeyes has turned into a dumpster fire in conference play. One of Ohio State's only three Big Ten wins came at Northwestern on Jan. 1 when it beat the Wildcats by 26. Since then, everything has fallen apart for the Buckeyes. Their defense has been a huge liability, giving up at least 70 points in six of those games. Playing against a Northwestern squad that likes to slow the pace down and force teams into long stints on the defensive end, this could once again be a problem for the Buckeyes. Northwestern is the better team right now and is going to be looking to get revenge on its loss to OSU, so I'll take the points with the Wildcats.

My Pick: Northwestern +5.5
