NBA Sharp Bet: Celtics -8.5 vs. Knicks

The sharps are riding with the Boston Celtics in tonight's NBA action against the New York Knicks. A whopping 94% of the total money wagered on the game is on the Celtics, but just 61% of tickets are on that side. In contrast, just 6% of the money is on the Knicks, but a large 39% of tickets are backing that side. That means we have a fairly large 33% "Pro-Money Advantage" on the Celtics, by taking the percentage of money wagered and subtracting the bet percentage.

Tickets on the Celtics are worth more money overall than those on the Knicks, so we know where the big money is going. We have already seen this line move in favor of the Celtics, showing that the respected money is on their side rather than the public in this matchup.

It's clear that the sharps are all over Boston here to get a huge win over the Knicks, and there are a few reasons for that. First off, the Celtics have lost two straight games on the road and this could be the perfect spot to back them here back home off a road trip. The Knicks just broke a long losing streak by beating the Cavaliers, but now they have to travel to take on one of the best teams in the NBA. The line has moved from 7 to 8.5 in favor of the Celtics.

College Basketball Sharp Bet: Iowa +2.5 at Michigan State

I've been high on Iowa as a possible sleeper team as they have gotten healthier throughout the year, and I really like them here at this short number against the Spartans.

NHL Sharp Bet: Canadiens +140 vs. Red Wings

Let's head over to the ice for the final sharp play of the night. There is a ridiculous amount of value to be found in hockey, and if you have been following us here, you have made a lot of money betting on the NHL. The sharps are going with Montreal Canadiens vs. the Detroit Red Wings tonight. It's clear that the professional bettors are liking the Canadiens here to come away with a huge win against the Red Wings.

As of this writing, 86% of the money is on the Canadiens to take this one, but just 27% of the total tickets. In comparison, 14% of the money is liking the Red Wings to cover as a favorite, but a massive 73% of tickets are riding with that side here. That means that the tickets that are worth a substantially higher amount of money are siding with the Canadiens in the game, as 86% of the money wagered is on just 27% of the tickets placed. I like the value with the Canadiens as well here, as the Red Wings are not a good hockey team and I'd take the plus money with Montreal.
