Nets at 76ers Preview

The 76ers (8-8 SU, 9-7 ATS, 8-8 O/U) host the Nets (8-9 SU, 8-9 ATS, 7-10 O/U) in the first game of TNT’s Tuesday night doubleheader. With the lone exception of T.J. Warren, the Nets will have their full roster, including Kyrie Irving, who returned from suspension on Sunday. Meanwhile, Joel Embiid, James Harden and Tyrese Maxey will be out for the Sixers, while Tobias Harris and Furkan Korkmaz are questionable.

This game will come down to whether the Sixers can get multiple role players to step up and contribute in starting roles. Keep in mind that Philadelphia ranks dead-last in bench points scored per game (24.2), so it’s very unlikely that guys like Shake Milton, Danuel House Jr., P.J. Tucker, De’Anthony Melton, Georges Niang, Paul Reed, Montrezl Harrell and Matisse Thybulle are able to generate enough points to match up with Brooklyn. But, the Nets are heavily favored to compensate for the situation, so it’s worth checking out our model’s best bets above.

My Lean: Nets ATS. I expect this to be a blowout in Brooklyn’s favor.

Kings at Grizzlies Preview

The Grizzlies (10-7 SU, 6-9-2 ATS, 8-8-1 O/U) host the red-hot Kings (9-6 SU, 11-4 ATS, 8-6-1 O/U) in a Western Conference battle on Tuesday night. Desmond Bane and Ziaire Williams are listed out for the Grizzlies while superstar point guard Ja Morant is considered doubtful due to a Grade 1 ankle sprain that he suffered on Friday.

The Kings are one of the hottest teams in the entire NBA right now. Riding a six-game winning streak and 9-2 SU record in their last 11 heading into this matchup, this is a squad that is producing offensively. In fact, Sacramento ranks 2nd in the NBA in Offensive Rating. However, they don’t defend, as their 4th-worst Defensive Rating indicates. The shorthanded Grizzlies have ranked 12th in Offensive Rating and 22nd in Defensive Rating and will be leaning on Tyus Jones, Dillon Brooks, Steven Adams, John Konchar, Santi Aldama and other role players as their main sources of points.

My Lean: over the total. Both of these teams can’t defend.

Pistons at Nuggets Preview

The Nuggets (10-6 SU, 7-9 ATS, 8-8 O/U) host the lowly Pistons (3-15 SU, 8-8-2 ATS, 11-6-1 O/U), but this might be a closer game than expected. Two-time defending NBA MVP Nikola Jokic and Jamal Murray are both doubtful, Jeff Green is out, while Aaron Gordon, Bones Hyland and Ish Smith are all questionable. Cade Cunningham, Saddiq Bey and Isaiah Stewart are all listed as out for the Pistons.

If all of the aforementioned players are out for Denver, they’re going to turn to some combination of Michael Porter Jr., Kentavious Caldwell-Pope, Bruce Brown, DeAndre Jordan and others. That core could be bad enough to give Jaden Ivey, Bojan Bogdanovic, Marvin Bagley III, Killian Hayes, Jalen Duren, Alec Burks and Detroit a surprising edge. I’d recommend staying away from this one until some injury news is released, but you can always check out our best bets above throughout the day since they’ll update in real time when news breaks.

My Lean: if all Nuggets above are out, under the total. If not, stay away.

Lakers at Suns Preview

In the second leg of the TNT doubleheader, the Suns (10-6 SU, 10-6 ATS, 7-8-1 O/U) will welcome the Lakers (5-10, 4-10-1 ATS, 8-7 O/U) to Phoenix. Chris Paul has already been listed out for the Suns, along with Cameron Johnson and Landry Shamet. Anthony Davis is probable for the Lakers while LeBron James is questionable.

Note that LA has gone 2-8 SU with LeBron playing and 3-2 SU without him. Pretty weird, right? Russell Westbrook is thriving off the bench, Davis has been dominating and this team’s newfound depth has gotten a chance to shine without King James. Dennis Schroder and Thomas Bryant were massive recent additions to the bench while Austin Reaves and Lonnie Walker have been playing some solid ball in the starting five. The Suns have gone 3-3 SU without CP3 and will continue to rely on Cameron Payne to run the offense alongside Devin Booker.

My Lean: Lakers ATS. With the added depth and LeBron’s presumed return (I think he comes back for this one), I’ll take them to cover as underdogs.
