Burdge: The Celtics Are Going to Win the NBA Finals

Here's why I am all-in on the Celtics to win the NBA Finals this year

The Celtics are going to win the NBA Finals.

There is just no way around it and no way I think this team is going to fall short of a championship. Not like last year. Not again.

They lost to the Heat in Game 7 of the Eastern Conference Finals last season. They lost in the Finals to the Warriors on 2022. But this year they're going all the way.

One major difference between last year's team and this year's team is Kristaps Porzingis. In 56 games this season, he averaged 20.2 points, 7.2 rebounds and 1.9 blocks per game. And he shot a career-high 51.8 percent from the field. If he remains healthy, the Celtics will continue being the unstoppable team they have been this regular season. They finished this season with a 64-18 record. They only lost 18 games. That's incredible.

Their odds to win the Finals at BetMGM are at +180 and their odds to win the East are at -175. While I wouldn't bet on them to win the East at that price, they are absolutely (obviously) my pick to win it, and BetMGM has the best odds for Boston.

As for the Finals, not only do I think they will win it all, I'm looking at a Nuggets-Celtics Finals matchup. And you can get that at BetMGM at +180. For the Celtics to beat the Nuggets, those odds are at +450. Side note: Jayson Tatum to win Finals MVP is +115.

The Celtics are championship-or-bust this year after how the past couple of postseasons have gone. And it just feels like there is no way they are going to let this be a bust.

So I'm declaring right now that this year, the Celtics are going to win the NBA Finals!
