Pacers at Magic Prediction

The Indiana Pacers (23-26 SU, 26-22-1 ATS, 22-27 O/U) head south for their third meeting this season with the Orlando Magic (18-29 SU, 26-17-3 ATS, 24-23 O/U).

The Pacers snapped their seven-game losing streak last night with a win over the Bulls, despite Tyrese Halliburton still sidelined. They are now on a road back-to-back, facing the Magic in Orlando. What makes this spot even more difficult for Indiana is that prior to playing Chicago at home last night, it had come off of four straight road games. Sure, a win last night brings the Pacers a little momentum, but fatigue should be a major factor for them tonight. They are also 0-5 ATS over their last five road games. The Magic have remained competitive at home as of late, beating the Celtics outright in their last game. They have the third-best NET rating over their last five home games and are top-five in effective field-goal percentage and true shooting percentage. I expect Orlando’s offense to knock down enough shots tonight to cover this number.

My Pick: Magic -5.5

Timberwolves at Pelicans Prediction

The Minnesota Timberwolves (24-25 SU, 21-27-1 ATS, 24-25 O/U) and New Orleans Pelicans (26-22 SU, 24-22-2 ATS, 27-21 O/U)

The shorthanded Pelicans have lost five straight games, including three straight at home, so they’re desperate for a win. However, if you look at who they have played lately, it’s some of the top teams in the league. New Orleans has a better, more consistent defense than Minnesota. It also ranks fifth in points in the paint over the last 10 games, while the Timberwolves are 27th in opponent's points allowed in the paint. Brandon Ingram is also supposed to be back tonight, which will give New Orleans not only a boost offensively, but also the morale boost needed to get back in the win column. 

My Pick: Pelicans -2.5

Nets at 76ers Prediction

The Philadelphia 76ers (30-16 SU, 26-19-1 ATS, 27-19 O/U) host the Brooklyn Nets (29-17 SU, 23-23 ATS, 18-27-1 O/U in a much-anticipated matchup.

The 76ers have been an absolute juggernaut lately, winning their last five games, all of which were on the road. They're now back at home and have had three days to rest before tonight's game against the Nets. Joel Embiid didn't play in the Sixers' last game against the Kings because of a foot injury. He also didn't practice yesterday and is listed as questionable tonight. If he isn't able to play tonight, I like the under in this game. Without both Embiid and Kevin Durant on the court, these offenses aren't going to produce at their usual clip. Also, Brooklyn is fifth in scoring defense, allowing 110.7 points per game; the Sixers defense is even better, ranking third. There's also a lot of tension between these two teams with Ben Simmons returning to Philly, so I expect a very close, competitive game. Take the under!
