Justin Verlander O 5.5 Ks vs. Phillies (-175, DraftKings)

It's finally Game 1 of the World Series between the Phillies and Astros and none other than Justin Verlander will take the mound for the Astros. I think he'll have a huge outing and hit the over on this strikeout total. When Verlander faced the Phillies earlier this month in his last start of the regular season he had 10 strikeouts against them in 5.0 innings. And he had 11 strikeouts in 6.0 innings in his last postseason outing against the Yankees and I think he'll continue that tonight in the World Series.

Celtics -6.5 vs. Cavaliers (-108, FanDuel)

The Celtics have covered the spread in two of their four games this season and I think they can get back to handling the spread again up against the Cavaliers tonight. And there are some huge trends in their favor to do so, including the team is 14-2 ATS versus good rebounding teams outrebounding opponents by 3+ per game over the last two years, 19-8 ATS when the total is greater than or equal to 220 over the last two years, 37-23 when playing against a team with a winning record over the last two years and J.B. Bickerstaff is 32-49 ATS in road games while coaching Cleveland. So I think the Celtics will have a big night here, as they’ve won three of their four games this season, and cover this spread against the Cavaliers.

Jets +3 vs. Patriots (-115, BetMGM)

I’m worried about the Patriots, folks. All the confusion going on in Foxboro the past week gives off strong chaos vibes so I’m looking at the Jets, and the surprising success they’ve found, to cover this spread. While I’d rather see Bailey Zappe start for New England, Mac Jones is the starter and he might be slightly rattled by getting booed last week. Belichick wants more than anything to beat the Jets, but the Jets are 6-0 ATS vs. good passing teams averaging 7 or more passing yards per attempt while at home over the last three years. The Jets have also covered the spread in their last four straight games, so I’m on the Jets here to cover this.
