The Phillies' struggles against right handed pitching has been apparent in 2021 with the team posting the 22nd highest OPS in the league this season against righties.
Don’t expect Philly to get it going on Wednesday afternoon against Anthony DeScalfani. He has been great early on for San Fran by generating a ton of ground balls, a career high 53%.
While some regression should be in order for DeSclafani, keeping the ball on the ground is going to be key today with winds blowing out of Citizens Bank Park at approximately 16 miles per hour.
If he can keep it in the park, the Phillies should have trouble against DeSclafani, who has been stellar against the lineup in the past. In 67 at bats against Philadelphia hitters, he has yielded a .224 batting average.
