Flacco's Trend, Futures Odds

At this point, it’s becoming a legitimate question of whether or not the New York Jets will win a game this season. They're not favored to do so, but the Jets (+180) are featured on DraftKings Sportsbook to finish the season winless. After their 34-28 loss to the Los Angeles Chargers, which admittedly was a good effort in the loss, the Jets are now 0-10 on the season. This leaves only six chances left to secure their elusive victory. New York will get another chance against the Miami Dolphins after losing 24-0 in their first meeting this year.

The Jets are clearly looking towards the future and have been cautious with quarterback Sam Darnold all season, holding him out with a mild shoulder injury. This is most likely to preserve his trade value and prevent an injury down the stretch. The team has been rolling with Joe Flacco at quarterback, who is doing just enough to keep games close, but not pull them out. The ultimate quarterback for an organic tank.

New York has been able to cover in their last two contests with Flacco starting. The team was 1-7 ATS previously.

Is Miami Safe?

The Dolphins didn't expect to lose their last game to the Denver Broncos, but a 20-13 defeat was just what happened. Coming into the game, they were favorites to win their sixth-straight game and improve to 7-3. A playoff berth was well within reach, and with games against the Jets and Cincinnati Bengals coming up, the Dolphins could realistically have been 9-3 entering their showdown with the Kansas City Chiefs.

Coach Brian Flores benched Tua Tagovailoa as the Denver defense was confusing the young quarterback, chasing him in the backfield often. The offense couldn’t get anything going, tallying just 13 points. This drops their hopes and puts Miami at 6-4, one game behind the Buffalo Bills in the division.

The Dolphins (+350) are the second-favorites to win the AFC East, per FanDuel Sportsbook.

Looking ahead to this week, a date with the Jets is exactly what this team needs. Flores has already stated that Tagovailoa is the starting quarterback going forward. If anything, expect this Dolphins team to come ready to play and get back on track.

Adding the Miami moneyline (-305) in a parlay seems reasonable enough at the very least. If you wager enough and don't mind a smaller return on investment, then this bet could be your favorite in this one.

One Last Thing

The last thing this Dolphins team needs is a loss to the winless Jets. Miami has been on a roll, looking every bit like a playoff contender in the stacked AFC Conference. Expect them to come out rolling in this game to get back on track and for the New York to fall again. The Dolphins (-210) have also led at halftime in five of their last six games. This might be the best trend of the bunch.
