Burdge: What I'm Betting on Friday, April 21

Celtics -4.5 vs. Hawks (-115, BetMGM)
The Celtics won and covered the spread in the first two games against the Hawks and I see them doing the same once again here. Boston has covered the spread in their six games in total. And the Hawks have failed to cover the spread in four of their last five games they’ve played at home. Historically, the Celtics have covered the spread in their last seven meetings with the Hawks and I don’t see that streak being broken here, especially since Boston has been completely dominating in this series. And I got this at -4.5 at BetMGM!

Shohei Ohtani O 7.5 Ks vs. Royals (-105, DraftKings)
Ohtani has hit this over twice so far this season with 10 in his first start and eight in his second start. He has hit this under in his last two starts, but if the elements against the Red Sox were not a factor with the rain and all the delays, I think he would have had more than the three he had in that one. And when Ohtani faced the Royals last year, he had 13 strikeouts against them. So I see him going over on this total tonight against the Royals once again.

Bruins ML vs. Panthers (-155, BetMGM)
The Bruins need this win here after the Panthers embarrassed them in Game 2. And the Bruins know the Panthers know they embarrassed them, so they are not going to want to let that happen again. I would call this a must-win because these are the elite Boston Bruins of 2023 and they cannot let themselves get toppled again. Plus, the team is 7-1 in the last eight games after losing by three or more goals in the previous contest. Furthermore, a Panthers player said some not so nice things about a Bruins player’s wife as we heard in audio from Game 2, so  I think there is some extra motivation here for the Bruins to absolutely demolish the Panthers here. And I got this at -155 at BetMGM!
