Anthony Davis Over 39.5 Points + Rebounds

Only one player (Kobe Bryant) over the last 20 years has made 40 field goals through two games just like Davis has and he enters this primetime matchup against the Cavaliers having just dropped 55 points and 17 rebounds against the Wizards in his last outing. In his start right before that, he put up 44 points and 10 boards.

On the season, Davis is now averaging 28.6 points (7th in NBA) and 12.8 rebounds (1st in NBA) and over his last nine games, he’s averaged an insane 35.3 points and 15.6 rebounds (50.9 points + rebounds) per game, both of which rank 1st in the entire Association in that span. Of course the threat of him heading to the locker room always is there, but this has been the best stretch of his career and one of the best two-game stretches in NBA history. Fade him if you’d like, but I’m going to keep riding the hot hand. 

Jamal Murray Over 1.5 Made Threes 

Over his last five games, Murray has gone 14-for-36 (38.9%) from three-point range and has made multiple long-range shots in every contest. Not only that, but he’s made three or more three-pointers in four of those five matchups. The Mavs allowed 13 made threes against the Suns last night and with Michael Porter Jr. still out, I recognize Murray as Denver’s most important point producer tonight.

We know Nikola Jokic is going to produce across the box score, but someone needs to step up and knock down shots for the Nuggets. Will that be Aaron Gordon? Maybe, but I don’t trust him. Will that be Bruce Brown? Maybe, but I don’t trust him either, nor do I have faith in the entire second unit that just got lit up by Jose Alvarado and the Pelicans in their last game. That leaves Murray, who has a proven track record of lighting up the scoreboard, as someone I’m keying in on tonight’s small NBA slate.
