Big Bet on New England Patriots to Win Super Bowl Would Pay $300K 

The New England Patriots aren’t exactly the favorite to win the Super Bowl this season, but at least one bettor has confidence in this year’s team. BetMGM released some data on Super Bowl odds, including one big bet on New England to hoist the Lombardi Trophy in February.

A courageous bettor put $10,000 on the Patriots at +3000 to win the Super Bowl for a potential payout of $300,000. New England opened at +3000 and that line has now moved to +2500. They’re getting 1.9 percent of the tickets and 3.5 percent of the handle. 

Other notable Super Bowl line movements include odds on the Kansas City Chiefs, who opened at +600 and are now at +450, and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, who opened at +1200 and now have +650 odds. The Buccaneers also have the highest ticket percentage, getting 17.1 percent of tickets, as well as the highest handle percentage, at 25.3 percent. The Chiefs are getting the second-highest ticket and handle percentages, with 11.2 and 12.6 percent, respectively.

The Denver Broncos have the third-highest ticket percentage and handle. They are getting 9.3 percent of the tickets and 10.4 percent of the handle. The Broncos opened at +6500 to win the Super Bowl and their odds have shortened to +2500. The Chiefs are the third-biggest liability for BetMGM, behind the Broncos at No. 2, and the Buccaneers as the biggest liability.
