WESTERN MICHIGAN AT #15 MICHIGAN STATE

Notable Trends: Under Mel Tucker, Michigan State has gone 7-2 SU when the total is between 49.5 and 56.
Major Storyline: Who is going to take over for former Michigan State RB Kenneth Walker Jr., who averaged 6.2 yards per carry for 1,636 rushing yards and 18 scores last year? Enter Wisconsin transfer Jalen Berger, Colorado transfer Jarek Broussard and former Auburn transfer Harold Joiner. VIRGINIA TECH AT OLD DOMINION
2021 Records: Virginia Tech 6-7, Old Dominion 6-7
Returning Starters: Virginia Tech (4 Offense, 7 Defense), Old Dominion 17 (10 Offense, 7 Defense)
Notable Trends: None
Major Storyline: Old Dominion will return 17 starters from last year’s team, including wide receiver Ali Jennings, who caught 62 passes for 1,066 yards and five touchdowns. If ODU will pull off the upset, the dynamic wideout will probably have something to do with it.
ILLINOIS (1-0) AT INDIANA
2021 Records: Illinois 5-7, Indiana 2-10
Returning Starters: Illinois 13 (7 Offense, 6 Defense), Indiana 12 (5 Offense, 7 Defense)
Notable Trends: Under Tom Allen, Indiana has gone 10-3 ATS as a home favorite; Illinois coach Bret Bielema has gone 13-2 ATS in the 1st half after allowing 6 points or less in the last game and 21-6 ATS in the 1st half coming off a blowout win by 28+ points.
Major Storyline: Illinois absolutely embarrassed Wyoming in Week 0, as the 38-6 final score indicated. In that game, Illinois outgained Wyoming 477 to 212 and the Fighting Illini picked up 260 rushing yards, 26 first downs (compared to 10 by their opponents) and controlled possession for 36:36. Illinois also prevented Wyoming from converting on 11 of their 12 third down opportunities, so it’s hard to imagine them getting off to a better start.
TCU AT COLORADO
2021 Records: TCU 5-7, Colorado 4-8

Notable Trends: Under Karl Dorrell, Colorado has gone 22-11 ATS in home games and 6-2 SU as a home underdog (125.6% ROI)
Major Storyline: TCU had a disappointing 5-7 season in 2021, but will return 18 starters this year, including dual-threat QB Max Duggan, who has racked up 41 passing touchdowns and 19 rushing touchdowns over the last three campaigns.
