The Clippers are coming off two straight losses to the Celtics and Pacers, making tonight’s game against the Heat a great opportunity to get back on track. Miami is playing its third game in four nights after beating the Jazz on New Year’s Eve. I like the Clippers to cover -2.5 in this game because of how well they play at home; they’ve come out on top in four of their last five home games, winning those games by an average of 15 points. They’ve also held opponents to 95 points or fewer in three of those games and 105 or fewer in four. Make sure both Kawhi Leonard and Paul George are playing in this one, and if they are, lay the points with the Clippers.

Dan Karpuc: Mavericks -7.5 at Rockets
Mavericks superstar Luka Doncic put up 35 points, 12 rebounds and 13 assists in a 129-114 victory over the Rockets on Thursday and I expect this to be another resounding Dallas victory and cover. Houston is in a rut right now and has dropped six consecutive home games while covering the spread just one time in that span. Despite the fact that the Mavs have not been a trustworthy team to back against the spread this year, they’re riding a six-game outright win streak and Luka is playing the best basketball of his young career at the moment. During their current winning streak, Dallas has owned the second-best Offensive Rating in the entire NBA and should feast on Houston’s defense (28th-ranked Defensive Rating), which has not shown any signs of improvement since the start of the season.
