Today’s NBA slate has nine games including a doubleheader on TNT. That means there’s tons of guys in the player prop pool to choose from. We have some great matchups today, but from a purely entertainment standpoint, I’ll go with Blazers-Nuggets as tonight’s marquee game. Denver is currently favored by 6 points and the total is set to 232, so we can expect plenty of points.

As for betting tips, player props are a fun way to wager on NBA games even if you don't like a side or total. I like to find matchups that I can exploit or good situations due to injuries.

Let’s dive into a couple of these scenarios now.

Trae Young OVER 2.5 made threes

Young comes into tonight averaging 26.9 points per game (PPG). The Atlanta Hawks guard loves to let it fly from deep, and he is shooting 37.9 percent from the three-point line this year. Over the last 10 games, that number has gone up to 41.4 percent.

Tonight he faces a Cleveland Cavaliers team that is atrocious at defending the 3-point shot. They are 21st in three pointers allowed and 30th in opponent’s three point percentage.

Young has gone over this mark in three out of his last four games. With the looks he will get tonight against Cleveland, look for him to reach that mark once again.

Nikola Jokic OVER 25.5 points

The Joker has had a couple of low scoring games in a row, which is why there is some value in tonight’s number. Jokic is averaging 26.6 PPG this season and that number rises to 27.6 at home.

It’s all about the matchup here, as he faces off against the Blazers who are one of the worst defensive teams in the league. Portland ranks 27th in points allowed, 29th in defensive rating, 24th in field goals allowed and 26th in opponent’s field goal percentage. He will also be defended by Enes Kanter tonight, so the Joker should be able to score at will.

I love that this game is on TNT, because you know that is when stars come out to play during the NBA regular season.

Joel Embiid OVER 42.5 points + rebounds

Embiid is playing the best basketball of his career and I don’t envision that slowing down tonight. The Process is averaging 30.3 PPG and 11.3 rebounds per game (RPG) on the season, and over his last ten games, that number has gone up to 33.9 PPG and 11.6 RPG.

Tonight he faces a Toronto Raptors team that is 17th in rebounds allowed and 20th in defensive rebounds. The last time these two teams faced off, Embiid had an “off game”, which meant 25 points and 17 rebounds. Before that outing, he had gone over 30 points in seven of his last eight games.

Look for him to pick up some easy buckets off of rebounds to help him top this number.
