NBA Player Props: 2 Best Bets for Tuesday, April 20

2 player prop bets to make for today's 5-game slate

Today's NBA slate presents us with just 5-games, but there are still some options to choose from for our player prop bets. From a purely entertainment standpoint, I'll go with Nets-Pelicans as today's marquee game. New Orleans is favored by 3-points and the total is set to 234.5.

For today’s best NBA bets, player props are a fun way to wager on NBA games even if you don't like a side or total. I like to find matchups that I can exploit or good situations due to injuries.

Let’s dive into a couple of these scenarios now.

Joe Harris OVER 14.5 points

This mark is high, but like the matchup today for Harris as he faces a Pelicans team that is ranked 29th in three-pointers allowed. James Harden and Kevin Durant are out today, so the Nets will need Harris to help space the floor. Kyrie Irving should have a monster game as well, but his number is a little too high for my comfort, so I will ride with Harris.

Harris is averaging 15.1 PPG over his last ten outings and had 14 the last time these two teams played.

New Orleans struggles on defense, as they rank in the bottom five of key metrics including 27th in points allowed and defensive rating.

The Pelicans have been getting rained on from deep, so I see that trend continuing today with Harris being one of the biggest beneficiaries. This game also has the second highest total on the board, so we will see a lot of points. Look for Harris to get to 15 by the fourth quarter.

Karl-Anthony Towns Over 39.5 points + rebounds

KAT is playing great basketball over his last eight outings. During that span he is averaging 27.6 points and 11.3 rebounds while shooting almost 50 percent from the field.

Today he gets the perfect matchup against the Kings, who struggle defensively. If there is a team worse than the Pelicans on defense, it's the Kings. They rank dead last in several defensive categories including points allowed and defensive rating. They also rank 20th in rebounds allowed and 28th in offensive rebounds allowed.

This game has the highest total on the board, so we will see plenty of buckets from KAT. He will get some points off of easy put backs as well. KAT is coming off of a couple of low scoring outputs, so we are getting a good number here.

BetQL Model Play of the Day

BetQL has a 5-star play tonight on the Timberwolves-Kings game. The model is liking the Kings at this number. Sac Town should be a 6.5-point favorite via the model's projections, which is a 3-point difference from the current line. So, there is some value on them tonight.
