NBA Player Props: 2 Best Bets for Thursday, May 6

Today's NBA slate features just 7-games, but there are still plenty of options to choose from for our player prop bets. As for the marquee game of the day, I'll go with Lakers-Clippers. LAC is favored by 8-points and the total is set to 210.5. This is a big game for the Lakers, but they'll be without LeBron James.

For today’s best NBA bets, player props are a fun way to wager on NBA games even if you don't like a side or total. I like to find matchups that I can exploit or good situations due to injuries. 

Let’s dive into a couple of these scenarios now.

Luka Doncic OVER 48.5 Points + Rebounds + Assists

This is a high number, but it's a good spot for Doncic with Porzingis out. Doncic is averaging 27 points a game without the Mavericks big man.

The Nets on paper look like a great matchup for Luka. Brooklyn ranks 22nd in points allowed and 3-pointers allowed, 24th in field goals allowed, and 25th in defensive rating.

Game script wise, this matchup has one of the highest totals on the board, so I anticipate a frantic pace. That will of course be good for this bet, the more points the merrier.

It's also a TNT game, so you know the stars will come to play. Doncic will want to put on a show, and I see him getting at least 30-points and stacking up a ton of boards and dimes to go along with. I'll also be sprinkling a little on the "Yes" Doncic will have a Double-Double wager. The Yes is -125 right now at DraftKings, but shop around.

Andre Drummond UNDER 11.5 points

This game has the lowest total on the board and will be a grinder. Drummond's minutes are getting shorter and shorter and the offense looks stagnant with him out there.

This is also a tough matchup for him because the Clippers have the size and length to defend him well. LAC ranks 5th in points allowed, and more importantly 2nd in rebounds allowed. That should limit the easy put backs Drummond gets. With that out of the picture, it'll be tough sledding for him, because I don't see him getting points in transition or on half course sets.

Low mark here, but still riding with it.
