Top 3 Strikeout Props For Wednesday, May 4

Take advantage of these K props on today’s MLB slate

After getting two of yesterday’s three strikeout prop recommendations correct, let’s keep it rolling today as we target three particular matchups. Note: statistics below were found on FanGraphs.

Blue Jays SP Yusei Kikuchi Under 4.5 Strikeouts

In four starts, Kikuchi has stayed under this strikeout number all four times and has lasted under 3.2 innings in three of the four outings due to his control issues. In 14.2 innings, he’s struck out 13, but also walked 13, and now faces a Yankees team filled with powerful right-handed bats. Active Yankees have slashed .358/.439/.838 against him and have struck out just 11 times in 79 at-bats. Under 4.5 strikeouts is the best bet in this matchup.

Twins SP Dylan Bundy Over 4.5 Strikeouts

Revenge will be on Bundy’s mind as he returns to Baltimore to take on his former team. He’s going to get a great matchup since the Orioles have struck out an average of 9.58 times per game, the highest rate in the Majors. Bundy has gone over this number in two of his last three starts, including six strikeouts against the Red Sox at Fenway Park and then seven strikeouts against the Rays at Tropicana Park. BetQL is giving Bundy a 65% chance to record a quality start (6.0+ innings with three or less earned runs), so assuming that his 22.6% strikeout rate holds, he has a fantastic chance to post over 4.5 strikeouts.

White Sox SP Lucas Giolito Over 6.5 Strikeouts

Over their last three games, the Cubs have struck out an average of 13 times per contest, the most in the Majors over that span by a wide margin. The White Sox ace has punched out 22 hitters in 14.0 innings over three starts and ramped up his pitch counts in each. In his season-opener against the Tigers, he struck out six batters in 4.0 innings (61 pitches) and then struck out nine in 4.0 innings (76 pitches) against the Twins and then recorded seven in 6.0 innings (99 pitches). His 37.9% strikeout rate (in the small sample size) is elite and opposing hitters have swung at a whopping 37.2% of his pitches outside the strike zone and opposing batters also have an 18.3% swinging strike rate against him, all positive numbers when it comes to this particular strikeout prop.
