Top 3 Strikeout Props For Tuesday, May 3

Take advantage of these for today’s MLB slate

#3. Bruce Zimmermann Over 4.5 Strikeouts

I love the under in this game due to the pitching matchup between Bruce Zimmermann (1-1, 0.93 ERA) and Joe Ryan (3-1, 1.17 ERA). The Orioles pushed back and raised their left field fence which might be one of the reasons why the under has gone 8-1 (89%) in Baltimore’s home games, but I also like Zimmermann’s strikeout prop. In his last three outings (against the Yankees at home and then on the road against the Angels and Yankees again), the lefty struck out six, six and five batters, respectively. The Twins have struck out an average of 9.04 times per game this season, 7th-most in the Majors.

#2. German Marquez Over 3.5 Strikeouts

Marquez (0-1, 5.57 ERA) has gone over this number in two of his four starts this season and is coming off a season in which he punched out 176 batters in 180.0 innings. Active Nationals hitters have struck out 26.1% of the time in 75 combined at-bats against Marquez, so there’s a lot to like about this prop. When his stuff is working, he has the potential to get over this number in the second inning.

#1. Paul Blackburn Over 3.5 Strikeouts

Blackburn (3-0, 1.35 ERA) is off to an awesome start and has recorded over this number in three of his four starts, including his first outing of the year against this Rays team in which he struck out seven. In 20.0 innings pitched, he’s had 18 strikeouts, so there’s a ton of value getting him over 3.5 K’s. Tampa Bay has struck out 9.67 times (7th-most) over their last three games as well.
