I hope everyone enjoyed Super Bowl LVII. I know I did since I took the Chiefs and the over. Now we get back to the NHL grind, where the value you can find on the slate every day is crazy. Let's try to do the same this week and make another solid profit on the ice on this post-Super Bowl Monday. Just a five-game slate to find some value, but we will sniff something out.

Coyotes at Predators Prediction

There are a lot of games today where I think you can find some serious value, and we'll head to Nashville for our first play of the day. The Arizona Coyotes are traveling to take on the Predators in a game between two teams that stink. Yeah, the Predators are 25-19-6, but they are frauds, in my opinion. This is a team that is getting outshot on average 31.0 to 34.2 by their opponents, and also has a negative goal differential. They are scoring 2.74 goals per game and allowing 2.82. So to recap, they have a negative shot and goal differential, but a winning record; regression will come at some point.

The Coyotes are awful, too, but they have a record that actually says so. They are 17-28-8 and aren't going anywhere this season, but they often have given us supreme value since they are constantly huge underdogs. They are scoring 2.64 goals per game and allowing 3.53, while also getting outshot on average 25.9 to 35.0.

MY PICK: Coyotes +210. We are getting over 2/1 odds on Arizona tonight, and I know it's disgusting, but the Predators should not be laying -225 against anyone. They will fall apart at some point, their goaltending can't save them forever. I'll take a shot with this massive plus-money.

Sabres at Kings Prediction

For our second game of the night, let's head over to Los Angeles, where we see the Buffalo Sabres traveling across the country to take on the Kings. Buffalo is a team that I have a hard time getting a feel for. The Sabres have a winning record at 26-21-4, and sometimes they have looked like a team that I think is a possible sleeper. But then, they will have nights where they get absolutely dominated and look incredibly weak. It seems these nights tend to come mostly when they face other winning teams, so I'm starting to think Buffalo is more of what we like to call "bumslayers" beating up on the bad teams.

Los Angeles certainly doesn't classify as a bad team and, in fact, is one of my top sleeper picks to win the Stanley Cup. This is a tough and gritty team that not only plays fantastic defense, but also can shoot the puck with the best of them. The Kings are scoring 3.24 goals per game and allowing 3.37, which is what keeps a lot of people from betting them. However, that goals against number has been going downwards since the begining of the season. They are also outshooting their opponents 32.3 to 28.7.

MY PICK: Kings -1.5. You are getting roughly +155 odds here for the Kings to cover, which I think is definitely possible against this Sabres team on the road against a good team. You can take them on the ML if you are more comfortable with that, but you have to lay -145 or higher. Either way you choose to play, I think L.A. wins this game.
