NHL Odds, Predictions For Feb. 17

We went 1-1 yesterday, but we still made a profit thanks to the massive plus-money we received with the Columbus Blue Jackets at +180. The Devils lost us a unit because the St. Louis Blues, with their negative goal and shot differential, are somehow winning games against really good teams lately despite being outplayed. Whatever, we are still up 7.13u this week alone. If you have been following along all season, you are up massive units, and we are going to continue that.

BetQL and I will have you covered for the second half of the season, and you had better believe that we are going to sniff out some value every single one of those days.

Kings at Ducks Prediction

Let's start things off in California for a crosstown battle in Anaheim when the Los Angeles Kings come to visit the Ducks. L.A. is one of my favorite teams this season, and I have advocated numerous times that the value with the Kings is exceptional in my opinion in the futures market. They currently have a negative goal differential, scoring 3.27 goals per game while allowing 3.35, but that gap keeps closing. In terms of shots, they are outshooting their opponents 32.2 to 28.7. This is a good team that has had some goaltending issues, but they are getting better as we go along in the season.

The Ducks stink out loud. In fact, no one in the NHL is giving up more goals and shots than Anaheim. The Ducks are scoring 2.45 goals per game, while allowing an insane 4.13 and also getting severely outshot 39.2 to 29.6. It's been super ugly all season, and that is why they are at the bottom of the standings.

L.A. also has the sharp advantage in this game, with 97% of the money on 89% of tickets, according to BetQL. That also means they are the public team with that huge ticket percentage. We also have an active trend for you on the Kings: Todd Mclellan is 14-6 SU coming off two or more consecutive home wins while coaching Los Angeles.

MY PICK: Kings -1.5 (-100, Caesars). L.A. is just the far better team here, and has the advantage at every position. Anaheim hemorrhages shots and goals, and I think the Kings will be able to get theirs tonight against a Ducks team that has lost three straight while allowing at least six goals in each.

Rangers at Oilers Prediction

The Edmonton Oilers will look to defend their home ice against the New York Rangers. This should be a really good game between two very good teams, and that means that there is value to be found here.

To me, these teams are pretty even. New York is scoring 3.37 goals per game and allowing 2.65. The Rangers are outshooting opponents 32.2 to 29.4, so controlling the pace of play hasn't been an issue for them. However, Edmonton is no slouch. The Oilers are scoring 3.73 goals per game and allowing 3.22, while outshooting opponents 33.3 to 31.7 on average.

The Rangers also have the Sharp advantage right now, with New York getting 92% of the money on 75% of the bets, according to BetQL. That also makes them the public side with 75% of the bets. BetQL also has a great trend on this game to consider: Gerard Gallant is 26-6 SU after two or more consecutive overs while coaching the Rangers.

MY PICK: Rangers ML (+108, FanDuel). These two teams are pretty even to me, with the Rangers having the advantage on defense and in net, while the offense of the Oilers is one of the best in hockey. If you are going to give me plus-money with one of them, I'll take it.
