After seeing how the Chiefs played in Week 1, the Chiefs’ pass-catching corps is even more crowded than last year. And Mecole Hardman often didn’t get this many catches even last year.
Hardman caught four or more passes in just seven of 20 games in 2021. He hauled in three passes for 16 yards and a touchdown last week.
But six players caught at least three passes for the Chiefs in their season opener. With Travis Kelce, JuJu Smith-Schuster and Marquez Valdes-Scantling as well as pass-catching running backs like Jerick McKinnon all in the mix, there’s little room for Hardman to demand any more targets.
