Dan Karpuc: Angels -1.5 at Athletics
The 2022 regular season will come to a close on Wednesday and what a better way to finish it than by watching Shohei Ohtani (15-8, 2.35 ERA) dominate an otherwise meaningless game? In his last six starts, Ohtani has allowed just 22 hits and four earned runs (0.90 ERA) over 40.0 innings and has struck out 46 compared to 11 walks in that span. Most importantly, the Angels have won all six starts and covered a -1.5 run line in four of them, including his last start against this same Athletics team last Thursday. In that one, he pitched 8.0 shutout innings with 10 strikeouts and only allowed two hits in a dominant outing. He has the clear edge on the mound against Oakland’s Ken Waldichuk (1-2, 6.18 ERA), who doesn’t profile as a top prospect in the Athletics’ organization. Ohtani and Mike Trout will use this as one last opportunity to pad their numbers before the offseason, so don’t be surprised if either one has a big offensive day.

Lucy Burdge: Astros -185 vs. Phillies
The Astros have won three of their last four games and are coming off of a win over the Phillies, so I think they can get the win in this final game of the regular season. Some trends in favor of the Astros are the team is 41-13 when pitching in day games this season, 40-12 vs. left-handed starters this season and 63-30 vs. a starting pitcher who gives up 5.5 or fewer hits per start this season. So I like the Astros to secure the W here.

Brad Pinkerton: Brewers ML + Under 7.5 + NRFI (+469 at DraftKings)
DraftKings has a promo for a huge, 62% MLB SGP boost today to celebrate games Nos. 162, and I'm using it on what should be a low-scoring game between the Brewers, starting Corbin Burnes, and D-backs, starting Merrill Kelly. I think the Brewers take this game to complete the sweep of Arizona and end the season on a high note at home, while Burnes mows down a D-backs lineup that was just shut out last night. This SGP has normal odds of +290 boosted 62% to +469, making this a great value.
