2024 NFL Offensive Rookie Of The Year Betting

With the 2024 NFL Draft over, we now know what situations rookies will find themselves in heading into the new season. Below, you'll see some smart Offensive Rookie of the Year best bets and sleeper picks from our Editorial Team!

2024 NFL Offensive Rookie Of The Year Best Bets

Dan Karpuc: Caleb Williams, Bears QB (+200, DraftKings)

Williams will step into one of the best situations for a rookie quarterback with the Bears. I didn’t think I’d ever type those words, but here we are. He will start in Week 1 and have a plethora of weapons around him, including wideouts Keenan Allen, D.J. Moore, rookie Rome Odunze, running back D’Andre Swift, tight end Cole Kmet and more. Three of the last five winners of this award have been quarterbacks (Kyler Murray in 2019, Justin Herbert in 2020, C.J. Stroud in 2023) and given the players around him, I don’t think an All-Pro caliber campaign with 25-28ish passing touchdowns is out of the question for the No. 1 pick. We’ve seen him put up huge passing numbers in college and he’s been a protector of the football, which I expect to translate to the NFL quicker than the other QB’s in this class.

Lucy Burdge: J.J. McCarthy (+850, BetMGM)

Kate Constable: Xavier Worthy (+1600, DraftKings)

Worthy ran a 4.21 40-yard dash, setting an NFL Combine record,  and will be catching passes from the best QB of all time, Patrick Mahomes. With his speed, he’s going to be a massive deep ball threat for Mahomes, allowing him to rack up a ton of yards. I also expect him to see the field quite a bit this season with the Chiefs WR corps extremely thin. Second-year WR, Rashee Rice, is likely to be suspended for his part in the multi-vehicle accident that he was involved in this offseason. That leaves Marquise Brown, Kadarius Toney and Worthy as top targets for Mahomes. Worthy will be a big part of this offense, so at +1600, we’re getting great value!

2024 NFL Offensive Rookie Of The Year Sleeper Picks

Dan Karpuc: Keon Coleman (+2500, FanDuel)

Stefon Diggs is gone. Gabe Davis is gone. Josh Allen is not gone. When the Bills drafted Coleman with the 33rd overall pick (1st pick in 2nd round) of the 2024 NFL Draft, they likely slotted the rookie into the WR1 role in what has been a very productive offense under Allen’s leadership. The 6’4, 215-pound former Florida State star showed flashes of brilliance when he was fed the ball in college, but could find himself with a ton of targets headed his way right away at the NFL level. Dalton Kincaid and Dawson Knox will draw looks at tight end, as will Khalil Shakir and Curtis Samuel, but Coleman should instantly step in as the team’s top outside wideout in Week 1. Wideouts have won two of the last three of these awards (Ja’Marr Chase in 2021, Garrett Wilson in 2022), so recent history is on the side of pass-catchers like Coleman!

Lucy Burdge: Drake Maye (+2000, BetMGM)

Kate Constable: Adonai Mitchell (+4000, BetMGM)

Mitchell became recognized as a big-time playmaker last season at Texas. He’s a vertical threat and has great hands, which will make life much easier for QB Anthony Richardson whose rookie season was cut short due to injury last year. Mitchell also ran a 4.34 40-yard dash, so he has the speed to blow by players. He was the No. 8 ranked receiver in the 2024 class but slipped to the second round and was the 11th receiver off the board. There were questions about his character that caused him to slip, but the Colts don’t seem concerned about that, so neither am I. However, I think that might be giving us a bit of a discount on the odds board. In several of his post-draft interviews, he’s mentioned he’s “pissed” about sliding into the second round and is determined to show teams what they missed out on.
