The New Orleans Saints and New England Patriots will face off Sunday at 1 p.m. EST at Gillette Stadium. To prepare, Quinton Mayo, Trysta Krick and Ryan Horvat discussed the bets they like most in this game and whether the Patriots will be able to defeat the Saints on BetMGM Tonight.
“I don’t know which Jameis is going to show up,” Krick said. “Is it Famous Jameis or is it Shameless Jameis? Is it the guy who’s eating W’s or is it the guy who’s stealing crab legs? Death, taxes and Jameis Winston being a mystery to bettors everywhere.
“My heart says I think New Orleans' defense will come back to being itself, but to me this strikes me more of an over," she added. "I think 41.5 is absurdly low. I understand why, but I think that’s low. Both these teams can score more than 21 points each.”
“It is at 42 so the market agrees with you on the points,” Horvat added of this total.
BetQL’s Model actually sees three-star value in the under on that 42 total.
“I hammered the New England Patriots in this spot,” Horvat said. “ … You got Bill Belichick with a full week to prepare for Jameis Winston. I think Jameis Winston is going to be seeing ghosts, just like I said about Zach Wilson.”
Horvat also noted that Mac Jones has looked like the best of the rookie quarterbacks.
Which I think is true, but after the Patriots’ loss to the Dolphins to begin the season, I don’t think it’s safe to say any of New England’s games are sure wins. And it would be a catastrophe for the Patriots to face Tom Brady and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers at 1-2 with Tampa possibly coming in 3-0. Belichick wants to avoid that at all costs.
