Levi's Stadium will play host to Super Bowl LX between the Seattle Seahawks and New England Patriots. After a wild Conference Championship weekend Seattle and New England proved what they've been saying all year, that they're the best teams in the NFL. Our BetQL NFL experts are back to break down how both teams got here, their keys to success and give their predictions for the biggest game of the year.
Let's kick think off with the Patriots, as they are definitely the surprise team between the two. QB Drake Maye in just his second season led his team to a 14-3 regular season record and followed it up with three hard fought playoff wins against the Chargers (16-3), Texans (28-16) and Broncos (10-7). For his part, Maye had an MVP calibre season finishing with 4,394 passing yards, 31 passing TDs and a 77.1 QBR. He's currently a +350 to win the MVP. The Patriots benefitted from a very weak schedule coupled with a top notch defense that kept them in the game against tough opponents. New England ranked #2 in points per game (28.8), as well as #4 in fewest points allowed per game (18.8). Unfortunately for the Patriots, two of their biggest defensive threats may miss the Super Bowl. LB Robert Spillane, who led the team in tackles is listed as questionable, while sack leader Harold Landry III is currently listed as out with a knee injury, but could be back for the game. New England will need all the help they can get as they opened as 3.5 point underdogs against a high scoring Seahawks team, a spread that has already grown to 4.5 points.
Speaking of the Seahawks, they took their #1 seed in the NFC into the playoffs and made the most of it. They beat up on the 49ers 41-6 and were able to take down the Rams 31-27 in the Conference Championship to punch their ticket to the Super Bowl. Seattle was dominant in the NFC West, finishing the regular season 14-3, behind QB Sam Darnold. Seattle boasts a very balanced team finishing 3rd in scoring (28.4 PPG) while allowing an NFL best 17.2 points per game on average. LB Ernest Jones IV along with DE Leonard Williams played a big part in that defense and could be the difference makers against the Patriots. For Darnold, this season is a bit of a redemption year, proving that last season with the Vikings wasn't a fluke and he got revenge on the Rams for knocking him out of the playoffs last year. Darnold now has the chance to prove a lot of his haters wrong and show that he can lead his team to a win when it really matters.
Our NFL experts are predicting that the Seahawks defense will be able to reign in the Patriots and Seattle will hoist the Lombardi Trophy as Super Bowl Champions this year. Despite both teams ability to score, we think this game is going to be on the lower side with our projected final score being 24.5-19. The current moneyline for Seattle is around -230, but the bigger potential payout comes from the Spread. Our tip: take Seattle -4.5 currently at -115 on DraftKings Sportsbook.
