Not withstanding some sort of ungodly defensive performance, which would have to include recovering multiple turnovers and scoring at least one TD, there are probably only two horses in this race. Sam Darnold (+130) and Drake Maye (+235) opened as the clear favorites and with the way they've led their respective offenses it's not hard to see why. What may be surprising is the amount of love the Seahawks other players are getting. Rhamondre Stevenson (+2500) is the highest rated Patriots player aside from Maye. Jaxon Smith-Njigba (+550) and Kenneth Walker III (+600) both look like realistic options as well. I'll throw out an interesting one that really caught my attention though was Drew Lock, the back up QB for the Seahawks at +7500. That's the same odds as TreVeyon Henderson who is leading the Patriots in rushing.

Darnold is going to do his best to stay in the pocket and let his receivers find space. We don't expect him to run up field even if he's feeling pressure from the Patriots defense. Seattle can move the ball on the ground, but Darnold has proven over the past two seasons that he is elite at moving the ball through the air. Look for him to come out firing.

Drake Maye

Unlike Darnold, Drake Maye is much more likely to move the ball on the ground. He's going up against the top defense in the NFL so he's going to have to a way to get the ball moving. He's proved this season that he can move the ball no matter what he's up against, but we still don't think he'll put up quite the numbers that Darnold will through the air.
