Seton Hall at UConn Prediction

Seton Hall beat UConn earlier this season, 67-66, on a last-second shot, which means the Huskies will be looking for revenge tonight. UConn was without its head coach Dan Hurley and associate head coach Kimani Young in that game due to Covid and also blew a 17-point first-half lead. The Huskies are back at home in this game where they have been great this season, going 13-2 SU and 10-5 ATS. Seton Hall's strong point is defense, but it struggles to keep teams off the offensive boards, which is an area where the Huskies thrive. This game is also extremely important in terms of seeding for the Big East tournament. The Pirates are fifth in the conference standings and are half-game ahead of the Huskies. Because Seton Hall won the first meeting, if UConn doesn't win this game, it likely won't be able to get into the top five in the standings. That's extremely important because the top five seeds get a first-round bye. I'll back the Huskies to get the job done on Saturday.

Notre Dame at Virginia Prediction

Virginia had a scare on Wednesday when it was nearly upset by Louisville. The Cavaliers were 17-point favorites, but only won by three against a Louisville team that’s only won three games all season. Virginia now hosts Notre Dame, the second worst team in the conference behind Louisville. Notre Dame's defense ranks 309th out of 363 total teams, so Virginia should be able to score at will. And while Notre Dame is much better on the offensive end, Virginia owns the second-best defense in the ACC and 26th-best defense overall. The Cavs will get back on track with a double-digit win on Saturday.

My Pick: Virginia -12.5

Pitt at Virginia Tech Prediction

Pitt has a shot at earning the No. 1 seed in the ACC tournament. All it has to do is win out because it already has the tiebreaker over Virginia. I'm going to side with the Panthers tomorrow as three-point underdogs on the road at Virginia Tech. Pitt has won each of its last six games and has covered five straight. It's also been a strong road team this year with wins at N.C. State, Syracuse and UNC, just to name a few. The Hokies are likely favored in this matchup because they're at home, but also because they have the size advantage in the frontcourt. Pitt struggled early in the year against taller teams, but center Federiko Federiko has really grown on defense over the last few games, and I expect him to be a major factor in the Panthers covering this spread.
