This isn't the most exciting college basketball slate you'll find this year, but sometimes it's the ugly games that end up having the most value. So let's dive into a few plays that I like to today.

Seattle at Oregon State Prediction

Seattle is a much better team than Oregon State. So why are they only 1.5-point favorites? Probably because they are playing their second straight road game and are going up against a Power 5 team. However, the Beavers haven’t looked like a Power 5 team as of late. They have a handful of close losses against good teams, and Seattle should be able to take advantage of Oregon State’s weaknesses. The Redhawks are a great rebounding team, especially on the offensive end, resulting in a ton of opportunities for second-chance points. Seattle also puts up a ton of shots each game, including from 3, ranking seventh in the nation in 3-point attempts. If they’re able to get hot from deep, this game could get well out of reach for the Beavers. 

My pick: Seattle -1.5

Lehigh at Wisconsin Prediction

It's going to be a very tall task for Lehigh to take down Wisconsin on their home floor, but covering +23 is very doable. The Badgers are the 35th-best defensive team in the country and they're going to have to play a lot of it tonight against the Mountain Hawks. Lehigh ranks 35th in the country in possessions per game and they play at a very fast tempo. That's a drastic difference from Wisconsin, which ranks 290th in that same category and likes to play at a more methodical pace. This makes me think that while the Badgers are the much more polished team offensively, the Mountain Hawks should have plenty of opportunities to score and at least try and keep this game within the margin.

My pick: Lehigh +23

North Alabama at Colorado

Colorado has been a wildcard this year. They are 5-5 straight up on the season and have nice upset wins over Tennessee and Texas A&M. They also have a really bad loss to Grambling State despite being 14-point favorites. My point is, the Buffalos are too inconsistent for me to back. They get up for big games but play down to their opponent when facing lesser teams. That gives North Alabama a good shot at covering this massive spread. It's also going to help that the Lions take great care of the basketball, ranking 73rd in turnover rate. They also have a balanced attack with three players averaging double figures led by Daniel Ortiz with just over 13 points per game. North Alabama has also covered the spread in each of their last three games, while Colorado is just 1-4 ATS in their last five.

My pick: North Alabama +22.5
