Kate Constable: Nets ML at Bulls (+110, Caesars)

Why should I trust this team as a favorite? How does this bet lose? Those are two questions you should ask yourself before placing any bet. I can’t come up with a good answer for why I should back the Bulls tonight at -2. However, I can come up with plenty of reasons for how the Bulls lose. For starters, the Nets beat the Bulls by 11 just a few weeks ago and that was without Kevin Durant, Kyrie Irving and its new trade pieces of Cam Johnson and Mikal Bridges. Those two players make this team much better than the version the Bulls just faced. The Bulls also lost six straight games heading into the All-Star break and it feels like they’ve quit on the season. Maybe the addition of Patrick Beverly will fire them up a bit tonight, but overall there isn’t anything I’m seeing that makes me want to back them. The Nets just gave head coach Jacque Vaughn an extension and it feels like they’re playing like more of a complete group despite having new pieces. Caesars is one of the places with the best price on Brooklyn to win outright at +110. Take it!

Dan Karpuc: Nets ML at Bulls (+110, BetMGM)

The Nets are 8-1 SU (+7.35 units, 81.7% ROI) on Friday nights this season. Boom. Not sold yet? Well, how about this? The Bulls have lost six consecutive contests and are playing some terrible basketball at the moment. After making no deals before the trade deadline, Chicago is in a weird spot and I don’t expect this team to perform consistently all of a sudden. While losing Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving via trade might have erased the “star power” in Brooklyn, the team got deeper and has the potential to be dominant defensively. Brad Pinkerton: Thunder ML at Suns (+240, PointsBet)

I love the new-look Suns and all, but they don't have Kevin Durant yet and still haven't really replaced the production of Mikal Bridges and Cameron Johnson. We got a reminder of that when Phoenix lost by nine at home to the Clippers before the All-Star break. The Thunder aren't the Clippers, of course, but Shai and Co. have been live dogs all season, going 19-22 SU in that role, including 11-14 as road 'dogs. The Thunder are also getting a ton of sharp money, which makes me even more interested in taking the value here with OKC at PointsBet -- don't forget to take advantage of that PointsBet welcome offer while you're at it!

Matt Horner: Senators ML at Hurricanes (+215, DraftKings)

I continue to be a believer in this Senators team, and I think they can make a playoff push in the second half. Despite their negative goal differential, scoring 3.04 goals per game and allowing 3.20, they also have been outplaying their opponents more often than not. Ottawa is outshooting their opposition 33.3 to 32.3 on average, despite the losses that have come.

The Hurricanes are one of the best teams in the NHL, and have won four straight headed into this one. They are scoring 3.38 goals per game and allowing just 2.59, one of the best goal differentials in the league. Carolina is also outshooting their opponents 34.9 to 26.5, which is again one of the best in all of hockey.

Given all of that, it seems insane of me to take the Sens, but that is what I am going to do. We are getting a huge plus-money number on Ottawa to win this game, over 2/1 odds on a single hockey game. Not only that, but it isn't like the Senators are a terrible team either; this number is more representative of an underdog like the Ducks or Coyotes, so this is great value for Ottawa.
