Nuggets vs. Celtics Prediction

Two powerhouse teams from opposing conferences will meet up on Friday night when the Denver Nuggets visit the Boston Celtics. Boston has won seven of the last 10 matchups against the Nuggets and will look to add another W. But, it won't come easy. Nikola Jokic is one of the best players in the league and he's putting up some monster numbers once again this season. I expect him to dominate the Celtics underneath, especially with Robert Williams III still out.

Boston has been fantastic to begin the season as well, and everyone expected that. They are one of the top offenses in the entire NBA, scoring 118.7 points per game, so Denver is going to have its hands full, especially with superstar Jayson Tatum, who is a machine and can beat you in so many ways.

MY PICK: This will be a tough game between two very good basketball teams, but I give the edge to Boston here. Against the spread, however, you have to think about taking the points with Denver. I don't see them getting blown out, and I'm not sure how Boston plans to contain Jokic. Both of these teams are 5-6 ATS as well, so there is no real edge that's evident. But it's always a good idea to see what the BetQL Model says.

Timberwolves vs. Grizzlies Prediction

The Minnesota Timberwolves will travel to the great state of Tennessee to take on the Memphis Grizzlies in a Western conference showdown. The Timberwolves have been a disappointing squad so far this season, as many people had high hopes that they would actually make the playoffs this season with some of their outstanding talent. The season is young and has just started, but they haven't looked very good. Defensively, they are giving up a whopping 115.8 points per game, which is 23rd in the NBA. They are having a very tough time stopping anyone, and you aren't going to win often when your defense is that poor.

Memphis is a different story. I wouldn't say they have been fantastic or anything, but they have been a good basketball team up to this point. Their strength lies in their offense, which has been explosive. They are putting up 116.8 points per game, and against this bad Timberwolves defense, they could have a field day. Ja Morant should put up at least 30 points tonight, maybe more than that. They aren't stopping him.

PICK: I have to go with Memphis at home here. Who is stopping Ja? No one, that's who. Minnesota's defense is terrible, and the Grizz should rip them apart. The over is also a good bet.

Cavaliers vs. Warriors Prediction

The Cleveland Cavaliers will travel out to California to take on the Golden State Warriors for our final reviewed matchup of the night. It feels weird for me to type this, but the Warriors kind of stink out loud. They have just been bad, whatever the cause of that may be, and they need to get things turned around. I'd say their biggest issue is their defense, which is the second-worst in all of basketball right now. They are allowing just an insane amount of points per game, 120.6 to be exact, and you aren't going to win much when you are giving up that many points on average, no matter how good you are offensively. Steph Curry is going to give you around 30 every night, but he can't save this team alone. They need to start playing harder on the defensive end.

Cleveland has been the best team in the NBA as of this writing in my opinion. Donovan Mitchell has injected life into this team and made them a real contender, but perhaps the best part about them is that they have been able to keep their defensive identity while gaining on the offense. Cleveland ranks 7th in the NBA on defense, giving up just 107.4 points per game. They have locked everyone down to start the year, and while they are doing that, Mitchell is quietly cruising them to victory with his scoring.

PICK: Why is Golden State favored here? I guess because they are at home, but they have no business being favored against Cleveland to this point. The Warriors are 3-8 ATS. Give me the Cavs.
