We are right in the middle of the 2023 NHL season, and with the All-Star break coming up before we know it, there will be plenty of people looking to enter the futures market at the halfway point. There is almost always value on the board, it's just about finding where that value lies and getting the best number possible on a team or player that can improve on that number. Today, we have a guy that is on one of the NHL's top offenses that is +1800 to be the top goalscorer in the league.

Bo Horvat +1800 (DraftKings +1800)

When you think of elite NHL squads, the Vancouver Canucks might not instantly come to mind. They haven't been a very good team this season overall, despite having a boatload of talent all over the roster. The good news for them is that they do have one of the NHL's top offenses in 2023, scoring 3.40 goals per game and getting 30 shots on net per night on average. The biggest issue with the team has been their goaltending, which has been terrible no matter who they put in net. However, their woes don't matter here, as we are strictly talking about who will score the most goals in hockey.

In an offense that is as productive as this one is, Bo Horvat has stood out above the rest. He's put on a masterclass this season on how to score, as he already has 29 goals as of this writing. Right now, he's sixth on the odds board behind some impressive names like Connor McDavid, David Pastrnak, Tage Thompson and Alex Ovechkin. However, Horvat is playing on an offense that actually has better numbers than any of the players here besides Pastrnak.

The main reason I feel there is value with Horvat is the way his team is playing and how they have to win games. Vancouver gives up a ton of goals, and in order to win, they have to score a lot of goals. That means they push the pace and take risks all the time, and that is the perfect scenario for Horvat to be putting plenty of pucks to the back of the net.

I also don't understand why Horvat is this far down the odds board. He's fourth in the NHL in goals, yet he is behind five people on the odds board. I think that is some great value for a guy that absolutely has to score for his team to win games. Nobody on the Canucks comes even close to the number of goals that Horvat has; center Elias Pettersson the closest with 17 of them. He's an assist man, which is what most of the roster consists of really. The only guy on the team who is a gifted goalscorer is Horvat.

Search around on the books available to you in your area, but +1800 at DraftKings is a good number, and I would sprinkle it before it gets smaller.
