NHL Game Prop Bets: Friday, March 24

There are three games for Friday’s NHL slate, and I’ve identified some favorable game prop bets on the BetMGM for you to consider ahead of the today’s action.

Nathan MacKinnon Over 5.5 Shots (+110)

Arizona Coyotes vs. Colorado Avalanche, 9:07 p.m. ET

The Coyotes have had a very underwhelming season, currently 27th in the league with a record of 27-33-12, but the 12-place Avalanche (41-23-6) are still well in contention for a playoff berth. Facing off against Arizona, I think six shots by MacKinnon tonight is very doable — but he’ll have to be on his game.

So far this season, MacKinnon has recorded 30 goals, 60 assists, 90 points, and 306 shots in 59 games. He’s managed at least six shots in two of his last four games and five in another one, so another six tonight definitely isn’t out of the question, especially against a much weaker team.

At +110 for 5.5 shots, the money could be better, but I still like this prop.

Patrik Laine Over 0.5 Assists (+125)

New York Islanders vs. Columbus Blue Jackets, 7:07 p.m. ET

Any assist bet is always a little risky, but I have a good feeling about Laine tonight.

Laine has recorded 22 goals, 30 assists, 52 points, and 184 shots in 55 games this season. He’s recorded at least one assist in four of his last five games including two in three, so against the Islanders, whose record of 37-27-8 is admittedly a long ahead of the Blue Jackets’ 22-41-7, I still think Laine has a good shot of adding another assist to his list.

At +125, the money is good, and for 0.5 assists, I like this prop a lot.

Kent Johnson Over 0.5 Points (+125)

New York Islanders vs. Columbus Blue Jackets, 7:07 p.m. ET

Johnson has recorded 14 goals, 22 assists, 36 points, and 98 shots in 67 games, and the 20-year-old center seems to have no intention of slowing down. With at least one point in three of his last five games, I have a good feeling about Johnson managing another one tonight.

The Blue Jackets are last in the league with a record of 22-41-7, which is a a long way behind the 15th-place Islanders (37-27-8). Against a much stronger team, Johnson should still have ample opportunity to show his stuff, but he’ll have to come in hot.

At +125 for 0.5 points, the money is good, and I like this prop.
