We have been killing it here this week in the NHL Playbook, having one of our biggest days ever the other night for a whopping 9.2 units of profit. Last night, we go 1-1, but since both bets were at plus-money, we still came away with a small profit. We lost on Rangers -1.5, as they won by just a goal but I wasn't willing to lay -200 odds on that. We grabbed a W with the Golden Knights ML against the Hurricanes at +120, so we walk away with .20 units of profit.

Wild at Canucks Prediction

No prime-time NHL games tonight, which is pretty ridiculous since ESPN now has the rights, but there is some value to be had tonight. To start, the Canucks are at home taking on the Minnesota Wild. It's been a disastrous season for the Canucks after having so much promise to begin the season. They had the talent to compete, but just haven't met expectations. Vancouver is scoring 3.35 goals per game but allowing a whopping 3.95. They are also being outshot by their opponents on average 31.2 to 30.7.

The Wild have had their problems this year, but overall, they have found a formula that works. Perhaps the biggest turnaround of the season for any unit, the goaltending in Minnesota went from over a 3.50 GAA down to 2.69. The problem is the offense is scoring just 2.79 goals per game. They are outshooting their opponents 31.2 to 30.1 on average, so it hasn't been like they have been getting shut out.

MY PICK: Wild -1.5 (+155, PointsBet). It's risky betting on Minnesota to have the offense to cover, but if there is any team that will allow them to jumpstart their offense, it's Vancouver. The Wild are just better everywhere, and with a +155 line at PointsBet, I find it hard to pass up. I'm not willing to lay -165 for the ML, so I'll take a shot on the puck line.

Senators at Rangers Prediction

Patrick Kane makes his New York debut tonight, much to the chagrin of us Blackhawks fans, but the good news is that he can compete for another championship. The Rangers are at home taking on the Ottawa Senators in what should be a great match.

If you have been reading these Betting Guides, you would know I am a pretty big Senators backer. I think they are highly underrated in the market and can make a second-half playoff push. Ottawa, which has won three in a row, is scoring 3.12 goals per game while allowing 3.13, and also outshooting their opponents 33.2 to 31.9 on average. That goal differential keeps getting closer and closer to being positive.

The Rangers are a team I really like, especially now that they have Kane. New York is scoring 3.30 goals per game and allowing 2.75, while also outshooting their opponents 32.0 to 29.1. This is a very good team, and even better in Madison Square Garden, so they will be hard to take down.

MY PICK: Senators ML (+150, DraftKings). I know it's probably a bad idea to bet against the Rangers on Kane's debut day, but I can't pass up this value. The last time these two teams played at MSG, the Senators took home a 3-2 win. They can win this game, too, and they can spoil No. 88's NYC debut.
