NHL Predictions For Today's Games

Kraken at Wild Prediction

Starting out tonight on the ice, we’ll head to Minnesota, where the home crowd will be behind the Wild as they take on the visiting Seattle Kraken. Both teams are coming off a win in their last game, and both teams have won three of their last five games. The Kraken are having a great sophomore season, sitting at 40-24-8 on the year, and just blew out the Predators 7-2. Seattle is scoring 3.51 goals per game and allowing 3.15, while also outshooting their opponents 30.3 to 27.5 on average.

The Wild just had a close call with the Chicago Blackhawks in their last game, but ended up with a comfortable 3-1 win with two late goals. They are also enjoying a good season, sitting at 42-22-9 on the year, but are without their best player in Kirill Kaprizov right now. Minnesota is scoring 2.90 goals per game and allowing 2.64, while outshooting their opponents 31.3 to 30.7 on average.

MY PICK: Kraken ML (+110, BetRivers). I think both teams are pretty good, but only one is getting plus money. Seattle is certainly good enough to get a win here on the road against a Wild team missing their best player. Minnesota struggles to score at times, and the Kraken have one of the fewest shots allowed totals in the NHL. I’ll take the value with them here at +110.

Canadiens at Sabres Prediction

For the second game of the night, let’s head East to New York, where we see the Montreal Canadiens taking a trip to take on the Buffalo Sabres. Montreal is quite bad this season, which was to be expected. They have won just two of their last five games, but they are coming off a huge blowout victory over the Blue Jackets. Montreal is scoring 2.84 goals per game and allowing 3.67, while also being outshot by their opponents 33.8 to 27.4 on average.

Buffalo has won two straight coming into this one, but overall, they have lost three of their last five. The Sabres have struggled recently, mostly due to an absolutely terrible defense and bad goaltending as well. They are an easy fade most nights. Buffalo is scoring 3.57 goals per game and allowing 3.68, while getting outshot by their opponents on average 32.9 to 32.2.

MY PICK: Canadiens ML (+160, DraftKings). The Sabres don’t deserve to be -195 favorites against anyone with that defense and goaltending. Montreal can win this game, and at +160 odds, that is some great value.

Panthers at Senators Prediction

For our last game of the evening, let’s head up to Canada, where the Florida Panthers are heading to take on the hometown Senators. The Panthers have lost three straight and are starting to slip in the standings for the Wild Card spot, which is wide open right now for multiple teams. I like the Panthers, as I think they have an elite offense, but the goaltending has really let them down. Florida is scoring 3.47 goals per game and allowing 3.43, while also outshooting their opponents 36.9 to 31.7 on average.

I simply won’t give up on the Senators until they are eliminated. They have lost three of their last five, but they aren’t officially out of it yet. However, time is running really thin for them. Ottawa is scoring 3.14 goals per game and allowing 3.25, but they are outshooting their opponents 33.2 to 31.9 on average.

MY PICK: Senators ML (+120, PointsBet). The Panthers are bringing their awful goaltending on the road, and I think the Senators can take advantage of that. I like both teams, but I love Ottawa getting plus money here at home just to win.
