Predators at Senators Prediction
We'll start things out with a pretty even matchup on the ice, when the Nashville Predators travel north of the border to take on the Ottawa Senators. Nashville has overachieved this season, sitting with an 18-14-6 record, and I think some regression is bound to happen. They are letting up a whopping 34.1 shots per game, but their goaltending has been locked in. They allow just 2.87 goals per game, despite that poor defensive number. The offense is average at best, taking 30.6 shots per game and scoring just 2.76 goals.
The Senators have a worse record, but they actually have been a bit better statistically than Nashville. Ottawa is pretty good offensively, scoring 3.05 goals per game and getting 33.0 shots on net per contest. On defense, they are allowing 32.0 shots against them, which isn't ideal. The goaltending has been OK at best, allowing 3.18 goals per game.
MY PICK: Senators -115 ML. I think they are the better team here, and I also think Nashville is due for some serious regression soon. Ottawa is at home against a very beatable team.

Oilers at Kings Prediction
For our second game of the day, we'll head down to sunny Los Angeles, where the Kings will be looking to defend their home ice against the visiting Edmonton Oilers. The Oilers have been a team I have been selling for a while now. They have lost three of their last five games, and have one of the NHL's worst goaltending and defensive situations. Edmonton gives up 3.32 goals per game and allows 32.5 shots on net as well. A swiss-cheese defense like that is exactly what you look for in a team to fade. Connor McDavid and the offense have been great as usual, scoring 3.51 goals per game and taking 32.1 shots per game. That still can't overcome the deficiency on defense, though.
L.A. has been one of my favorite teams to bet on all year. They are constantly underpriced, and I take advantage of that all the time. The Kings have been great on defense, allowing just 28.7 shots per game. The offense has been good as well, scoring 3.21 goals per game and getting 32.2 shots on net each night out. The goaltending can be hot and cold, but it has improved over the course of the season.
MY PICK: I'll certainly take the Kings at even-money here against an Oilers team on the road that can't stop anyone. L.A. is underpriced again, while Edmonton always gets too much credit due to McDavid alone.
