It amazes me that we are getting this type of number with last year's Presidents Trophy winners, but here we are. Florida hasn't looked like themselves this season, compiling a poor 14-12-4 record as of this writing. However, there is reason to believe that this team can turn things around and get right back into contention as one of the NHL's best teams. At a price this high, they are certainly worth taking a flier on at 22/1.

For starters, this offense is still humming along, and is one of the best units in the entire league. Florida is scoring 3.37 goals per game, which is well above the NHL average. Perhaps most important is how much they dominate puck possession during games, and they do that quite often. Florida is taking a humongous 37.4 shots per game, showing that they have the puck a lot, while letting up 31.4 shots per game.

They control the ice in almost every game, but they aren't winning a lot of them. Very strange, but the reason is between the pipes. Sergei Bobrovsky is cooked, and that is evident with his 6-8-1 record, 3.35 GAA, and very poor .889 SV%. He's been the starter, but it looks like he won't be in the future. Spencer Knight has done a fantastic job in his appearances in the net, with an 8-4-3 record, 2.64 GAA, and .919 SV%.

Knight will be key to getting this season back on track with Bobrovsky struggling. They also need to get things figured out on the power play, where they are scoring at a miserable 18.8% rate. I think that will improve with the offensive numbers we know they can put up. They also have a poor penalty-kill unit, stopping just 78.3% of power plays. With Knight starting, that also could improve.

This team has too much talent to be 22/1 no matter how you slice it. They will turn things around, and the signs are right in front of us. Sprinkle this number and let's see if we can't watch Florida make a comeback.
