WHAT THEY SAID
Ahead of this NFL season, The Daily Tip hosts discussed which player they would bet on for MVP. Michael Jenkins is looking at Jacksonville Jaguars QB Trevor Lawrence to potentially take it home. "Trevor Lawrence really came on last year," Jenkins said, calling him "a great pick this season."
"If you look at his last five or six games, his stats were out of this world. I think I might go Trevor Lawrence," Jenkins added.
But Messinger is leaning more in the direction of new Jets signal-caller Aaron Rodgers winning this.
"Trevor Lawrence is going to have the opportunity because they're a passing offense for sure," Messinger said of the Jaguars. "But the Jets are going to be a passing offense too. ... And, plus, Aaron Rodgers is one of the best in the league at adjusting at the line of scrimmage and calling audibles."
BETQL SIMULATION DATA
After simulating every NFL game 10,000 times, BetQL's NFL Model is projecting Lawrence to throw for 4,275 yards with 18 touchdowns while leading the Jaguars to a 10-7 regular season. Rodgers is projected to throw for 4,040 yards with just 13 touchdowns en route to either a 7-10 or 8-9 record.
