Messinger: Bengals Will Miss Playoffs

Based on the start of their season, Chelsa Messinger doubts the Bengals can reach the postseason

The Bengals have had a rough start to this season and are now 0-2 after falling to the Steelers, 23-20, in Week 1 and then losing to the Cowboys, 20-17, in Week 2. Based on this, Chelsa Messinger doubts the Bengals, who made it to the Super Bowl last season, will even make it to the playoffs this year.

"Teams that start the season 0-2 since, what was it? 1990? Have an 11-percent chance of making the playoffs?," Messinger said. "I think that is the nail in the coffin because in the NFL when wins are so hard to come by that when you start the season 0-2, it's just too big of a hole to dig yourself out of. And especially because of the division they play in, it's not an easy one. ... The hole that they are in right now is just too difficult to climb out of. They need a Life Alert because they've fallen and they can't get up."

As Messinger also said, the Bengals aren't completely cooked even if they don't make the playoffs and BetQL is projecting they'll do well against the Jets in Week 3 and sees Joe Burrow throwing for 280 passing yards and two touchdowns.
