With several intriguing NFL matchups set to take place this week, I’ve identified a few favorable football betting player props on the BetMGM Sportsbook that you could consider ahead of the action.
Commanders WR Terry McLaurin Over 59.5 Receiving Yards (-115 at BetMGM)
Commanders wide receiver Terry McLaurin has been over this total in three of his last four games. And that’s for a very clear reason. In the six games Carson Wentz has started for Washington this season, McLaurin averaged 3.7 receptions and 61.2 yards on 6.2 targets per game. In four games with Taylor Heinicke, McLaurin has averaged six catches and 92.5 yards on nine targets.
Six receivers have gone over this total against the Texans, who are 25th in passing defense DVOA according to Football Outsiders. Against that defense, I think McLaurin can tally at least 60 receiving yards.
Jonathan Taylor Over 86.5 Rushing Yards (-115 at BetMGM)
Colts running back Jonathan Taylor seems to be back on track after his team’s coaching changes. And this matchup isn’t as scary as it seems. Though the Eagles just added aging veterans Ndamukong Suh and Linval Joseph to help up front, they needed a boost. Philadelphia just placed first-round defensive tackle Jordan Davis on IR and has allowed the 13th-most rushing yards (124.8 per game) in the NFL. They are also 28th in rush defense DVOA.
Taylor just ran for 147 yards on 6.7 yards per carry last week. He should be capable of going over this total against this Eagles defense.
Matthew Stafford Under 232.5 Passing Yards (-115 at BetMGM)
Life isn’t going to get easier for Rams quarterback Matthew Stafford, who has been under this total in each of his last two games. The Rams just placed star wide receiver Cooper Kupp on IR. Kupp has accounted for 813 of Stafford’s 1,928 yards through the air this season (42%).
Now Stafford has to face the Saints, who allow the sixth-fewest passing yards (195.9 per game). I don’t think this will be an easy day for the Rams passing attack.
