Super Bowl Favorites

Matt Horner: Cowboys (+1400, DraftKings). Personally, I feel like this could be the year that Dallas finally breaks through. A team that usually gets all the attention in the world, no one seems to be talking about the Cowboys right now. After last year's disappointment and failure, people are souring on Dak Prescott as the guy to lead this team forward. I see this as the perfect time to attack. The NFC as a whole is an embarrassingly bad conference, and only a handful of teams really have a shot at winning it. Dallas has a roster that is certainly talented enough to win it, and it could come down to how Prescott plays. He's always had the ability and talent but hasn't been able to get the job done. Ezekiel Elliott's departure is a huge plus, and will no longer weigh this offense down. Overall, I just feel like they are being overlooked due to recent history, and I'd like to play against that.

Dan Karpuc: Chiefs (+600, BetMGM). Wow, I’m really going out on a limb here, huh? As we’ve seen with Tom Brady, certain players have a knack for leading their teams to the Super Bowl and we’re seeing that with Patrick Mahomes, who has guided KC to three Super Bowls (two wins) and five AFC Championship appearances in five years as a starter. I don’t care about who his weapons are, I don’t care about free agents, I don’t care about the NFL Draft. I just care about the guy under center. As long as he and Andy Reid are together, I’m going to trust that they’ll be in the Big Game.

Brad Pinkerton: Bengals (+1100, BetMGM). Like Joe Burrow said, the Bengals’ Super Bowl window will always be open as long as he’s in town. The Bengals are 22-11 (.667) the last two regular seasons, and the only teams that are as good or better than that mark have shorter Super Bowl odds than Cincinnati, with the exception of the Cowboys. But I see at least one glaring weakness on the current Cowboys roster and on every team with longer odds than the Bengals, so I’ll take the value on Joe Cool and Co.

Super Bowl Values

Matt Horner: Rams (+8000, DraftKings). The Rams won the Super Bowl just a few years ago, which is hard to believe with how terrible they were last season. However, injuries had a lot to do with this, and next year they should have their stars back in the fold for another season. Matthew Stafford still is one of the better QB's in the league, and definitely in the NFC, which has a serious lack of talent right now. Who are the best QB's in the NFC? Aaron Rodgers looks to be off to New York or elsewhere AFC. Tom Brady retired. Jalen Hurts is probably the best. Dak Prescott? Jared Goff? Derek Carr? This confrence is horrendous, and the Rams can easily be one of the better teams in it with Stafford and Cooper Kupp back.

Dan Karpuc: Giants (+6500, PointsBet). Brian Daboll proved that he’s an incredible coach in 2022. Not only did he guide the Giants to the playoffs, but they even won a playoff game, something they hadn’t done since 2011. Most importantly, he instantly changed the culture and by immediately benching Kenny Golladay, he made it clear that he requires accountability. Now that the G-Men committed to Daniel Jones as their long-term starter, I expect him to take another leap forward and expect them to add some skill players in the offseason. This team has a lot of upside moving forward.

Brad Pinkerton: Dolphins (+2500, BetRivers). I like Miami at this price after the Dolphins brought in Vic Fangio to run the defense. If this team can get a clue on D, it will take a major step forward in 2023. What I also like about the Dolphins  here is that they are a stealth contender to bring in a new quarterback in place of crash-test dummy Tua Tagovailoa, at which point this number would shrink drastically.

Super Bowl Sleepers

Matt Horner: Commanders (+6500, DraftKings). The Commanders moved on from Carson Wentz, which immediately makes them more viable to win a championship. The defense last season was actually very good, and despite the constant turnovers by a pathetic offense, still managed to keep Washington in a lot of their games. I have no idea how good Sam Howell is, but the key to this bet will be improved QB play, no matter who is under center. Howell looked promising in his lone start against Dallas, but that was just a single game. Lamar Jackson is still a possibility as of this writing, and that would be huge for this team. They could also move up in the draft to grab someone like Will Levis. No matter what, the Commanders have a solid team, they just need a better signal-caller in a weak NFC.

Dan Karpuc: Cardinals (+20000, DraftKings). Kliff Kingsbury is (finally) gone and former Eagles defensive coordinator Jonathan Gannon will take over the Cardinals. Gannon is 40 years old and hired 35 year old Drew Petzing as his Offensive Coordinator and 29 year old Nick Rallis as his Defensive Coordinator. What does this mean? A new-age style of play will be employed on both sides of the football. Quarterback Kyler Murray didn’t excel in Kingsbury’s Air Raid offense, but is one of the most dynamic players in the NFL. This fresh start could be just what he needs and there are some quality players already on this roster.

Brad Pinkerton: Colts (+15000, FanDuel). Let me be clear: The Colts were an absolute mess last season – and they still might be, frankly. Hence the insanely long odds. But with a new head coach in former Eagles OC Shane Steichen and a new offensive boss in former Jags pass-game coordinator Jim Bob Cooter, who worked with Steichen in Philly, things will at least look different in Indy next season. Add in a healthy Jonathan Taylor and just about any QB who’s not Matt Ryan or a rookie, and it wouldn’t be surprising to see the Colts far out-play these odds.

Super Bowl Winner Picks

The Super Bowl is the most watched sporting event in the United States, and as such, it is also the most wagered on event in the country. It's never easy to pick a winner and hit a Super Bowl future in advance, but you can do your research and make the most informed bet possible to cash in large at a nice plus money number. That's what we are trying to do here. Most Super Bowl winners are teams that you would expect to win the Super Bowl, and it isn't often we get a surprise team that actually wins it. We have had some great champions over the last 10 years or so.

The Seattle Seahawks in 2013 had the Legion of Boom. The New England Patriots in 2014 captured the crown with that amazing interception at the goal line. The Denver Broncos won it for Peyton Manning in his last year in the NFL in 2015. 2016 saw the Patriots come back from a 28-3 deficient to win the championship again. In 2017, the Philadelphia Eagles won their first Super Bowl. In 2018, the Patriots won it yet again with a very low-scoring 13-3 win. 2019 gave us Patrick Mahomes' first Super Bowl victory in his sophomore campaign. In 2020, Tom Brady and his new Tampa Bay Buccaneers won it all. In 2021, the Los Angeles Rams won it behind new QB Matthew Stafford and electric wideout Cooper Kupp. Last season, Patrick Mahomes captured his second Super Bowl in what is sure to be a legendary career.
