Dan Karpuc: Commanders -2 vs. Browns
In four starts, Deshaun Watson has accounted for two passing touchdowns and three interceptions while the Browns offense has generated a total of three offensive touchdowns. Was it worth it, Browns Front Office? Anyways … this Browns team is coming off a 17-10 home loss to the injury-depleted Saints last week and it’s clear that they’re trending in the wrong direction and are already eliminated from playoff contention. While the Commanders would currently be in the playoffs if the season ended now, they need to keep performing to hold onto their spot and made the shift back to Carson Wentz as their starting quarterback for this game. Ultimately, I don’t understand the hate for Wentz, who has proven to be a productive QB when healthy, and I’m giving the Commanders a clear edge at home in this matchup.

Kate Constable: Bears 1H +3.5 at Lions
The Bears are coming off a terrible home loss to the Bills. However, those two teams are on different ends of the spectrum this year, so that was kind of expected. Thankfully for Chicago, they don’t have to go up against the Bills defense again this weekend. In fact, it’s the exact opposite. They get a terrible Detroit defense that just gave up 320 yards on the ground to the Panthers. Justin Fields might not have had much success on the ground in Week 16, but that’s going to change in Week 17 and the Bears will be able to keep this one close.

Matt Horner: Jets -1.5 at Seahawks
As soon as Mike White was announced as the starting QB for the Jets, I immediately went to bet on New York and snagged them at -1. Yes, they are on the road, but now that they have a competent signal-caller, I like their chances against a sinking Seahawks team. The Jets should have much more confidence with Zach Wilson inactive, and the defense can get back to doing its thing.
