Keep An Eye on Mac Jones' Offensive Player of the Year Odds

Don't sleep on Mac Jones' OPOY odds after changes he's made this offseason

The NFL season is basically right around the corner, believe it or not, with training camp just a couple weeks away and players gearing up to report for duty. So it's a perfect time to start taking a look at all the props for next season, including odds to win NFL Offensive Player of the Year.

Mac Jones might not be the first name that comes to mind when thinking about who might win the honor this season, but let me introduce you to (if you have not already seen) new and improved Mac Jones 2.0. The changes Jones has made to his diet and exercise this offseason have head-turning results. And led me to take a closer look at his odds to win Offensive Player of the Year this season. His odds are currently sitting at +7220 behind a major crop of talent in this league, but looking at the work Jones has put in this offseason, I would take his odds seriously and at least keep an eye on them as the season begins.

Kendrick Bourne even said of Jones is "in the best shape of his life" coming into OTAs. And Jones himself said, I've probably learned more this offseason than I ever have about my diet, sleep, nutrition, wellness, all that stuff. I've taken what I've learned that I feel will help me and applied it." This is a lifestyle change that I don't see Jones veering away from any time soon and it feels like he'll only improve with these major differences.

Jones didn't have the worst rookie season ever, as he threw for 3,801 passing yards, which was 13th in the league, and the Patriots did make it to the wild card round. Plus, he almost beat Tom Brady when the Patriots and Buccaneers faced off. And now that Johnny Bravo over here looks like this and is absolutely ripped beyond our wildest dreams, I would not rule out a massive sophomore season for the quarterback and wouldn't sleep on his odds to be Offensive Player of the Year.
