Atlanta Falcons

The Falcons did their very best to come back from a massive deficit against the Los Angeles Rams, but in the end, they just didn't have enough. To be fair, I really never thought that in the year 2022 I'd be seeing Marcus Mariota as the starter of an NFL team, but here we are. He isn't a franchise quarterback or someone that you are going to trust long-term, but he hasn't played poorly either. He led the Falcons to 17 points in the fourth quarter against LA, which is impressive nonetheless. They have been doing this without much contribution from Kyle Pitts, which is even more impressive.

The defense has been bad, but the offense has been able to keep games close. In fact, despite Atlanta being 0-2 SU, they are 2-0 ATS. They are a much better team than people give them credit for, and to me, this line in the game is silly. The Falcons should have held on to win in Week 1 against New Orleans and they nearly came all the way back to win in Week 2 against Los Angeles.

This is the quintessential example of a team being better than what their record shows.

Seattle Seahawks

Geno Smith is starting an NFL game against Marcus Mariota in 2022. Just think about that for a minute and figure how unlikely that outcome is. Yes, the Seahawks beat the Broncos in Week 1 and the Falcons are 0-2, but Atlanta is a much better team in my opinion. Seattle’s win looks worse every minute that we see Nathaniel Hackett on the Broncos sideline, a coach that is completely out of his league and should be fired less than three games into his tenure. Seattle had no business winning that game and got incredibly lucky, yet that win is factored into this line, and that is a mistake.

Week 2 was a disaster for Smith and the Seahawks. Smith went 24-for-30 and didn’t even throw for 200 yards, and the offense failed to score a single offensive TD. Their touchdown came on a blocked punt, so the game looked closer than it actually was. This is a very bad team that is getting far too much credit for a win over a bad Denver team.

I don't care if they are at home either, it simply doesn't matter. The Falcons are live here.

My Prediction

Seattle has no business being a favorite in this game. This game should be even, or Atlanta should be favored as they have been the better team so far. It makes no sense to me, which is why I'm scared this could be a trap.

Either way, I'm taking Atlanta on the moneyline at +115.
